Michiganders, I had a Blast

Thanks to all the ladies in Michigan that met up for dinner last night. I had a wonderful time. Y'all have a great core group of DSrs.

Aw Gina - I just KNEW you'd be wonderful!   I had a great time too, but was pretty tired by the time I got into Detroit.    Let me know when you're out this way again.   I will try to upload the photos into my dad's computer and send them before I leave for San Francisco tomorrow.

This group has lost 911# !!!!   

Good mix of people -- from knowledgeable vets, to still working at it, to newbies, to pre-ops, 4 different surgeons, and one nice DH (Donna's) who took pics! :

Gina (MajorMom):  a lightweight at goal & almost 2 years post-op
Jackie D:  at goal & almost 3 years post-op
Julie R:  at goal & almost 3 years post-op
Kimberley:  20# to normal BMI & 18 months post-op
Jenny (ldyminerva):  working on another 40# & 14 months post-op
Lisa S:  a lightweight with only 3# more to go @ 10 months post-op
Donna (Fervent4Jesus):  broke away from her 8 children to enjoy an evening out with DH & 7 months post-op
Jill (jaellie):  my angelette has made such AMAZING (noticable) progress since I saw her recovering in the hospital bed 2 months ago!!
Lynne (lms123):  pre-op just waiting for that surgery date!!
Betsy:  another pre-op awaiting her surgery date!!
Patt:  was on her way to join us, but her car decided otherwise  :(

Of course, we talked & talked!!  Never enough time to talk to everyone as much as you want to.  Oh, Lynne & Betsy are really good friends, and I think that it is so cool that they are going through this together and will be really close with surgery dates!!  We don't have a really geographically concentrated group of DSers, so it was great that Gina gave us all a reason to meet in the center of the state.  Only one of us lives there, so the long drives just showed how how anxious we all were to see Gina!

In true DS fashion, on the drive to drop Gina back to her hotel after dinner -- our car of 5 stopped for cheesecake & coffee just 1/4 mile from the original restaurant (the waiter thought we were freaks with all the half & half we consumed)!

I've posted pics to my profile, but will still work on getting them onto this post (it never works for me!!) with names to go with the faces.

Can't wait to see you all again really soon!!

Gina & Kimberley:  Gina is such a tiny thing!!  Don't mess with a Major though!  I last saw Gina 11 months ago, and was 76# heavier.

Kimberley & Jill (jaellie):  I am a super bad angel, but Jill is a fantastic angelette -- she is really rocking her DS!!!



Betsy & Lynne (lms123):  pre-op DSers!!  These ladies asked a lot of really good questions -- hopefully we didn't scare them!  Both are waiting for surgery dates with Dr. Kemmeter, so we will be making room for these losers very soon.
Julie R, Jackie D, and I are all Dr. Kemmeter patients.  His partner, Dr. Foote, was also well represented by Jenny (ldyminerva), Lisa S, and Jill (jaellie).

Dayyyuummm...we look good!   Geez.....I don't know if it's the blousy top, or my bra, but my boobs look big in these pics.   Ain't know way these 34 B's look that good IRL.   Thanks for posting these pics, Kimberley, and all of the stats about each of us.    It cracked me up how the waiter brought out two important things for a DS'er:   extra cheese and carry out boxes!   I finished off the rest of my prime rib at 4 this morning.

I was so glad to meet you.  I am very grateful for you because without you I would probably still be drinking juice and thinking my DS was broken(lol).  You look great keep up the great work.  My husband so enjoyed chatting with you and he is so serious about taking you up on your invite.  Give us some dates that are good for you.

The only two weekends that I know we are busy are July 4th and then I think it's like August 8, as I"ll be down in Detroit for my 30th HS reunion.  Can't believe I"m that old, LOL.    

Neither can I .  your proof it doesn't matter what age you are it's all in how you look and feel!!!!

Just wanted to say that I really enjoyed myself yestererday.  You guys are a great bunch everyone was so nice and looked sooooo wonderful.  There was so much talking going on I didn't get to talk with you very much but I thought  you were like 4 or 5 years out.  You have lots of knowledge for us DSers and you look so great, I just assumed you were at goal weight.  You go girl!!!! congratulations on a job well done and that is to all of you girls.  You have rocked the DS and inspired me.  Keep up the good work and I hope to see you all again soon!
