Girlfriend...what the heck are you doing eating MEAT this early out????  I'm 6 wks out and just now eating meat!!  I was cleared @ 4 wks, but wanted to give tummy a little longer.

Your tummy is so tender right now.  IMO you've done way too much!

Also, raw veggies (salad) is too much right now too.

Don't push yourself to "get back to normal".  Let your body tell you what to do.  And IMO, it's telling you "don't send down that kind of food!"

Remember....tummy is tender, and needs to be treated as a new born.  You wouldn't give a newborn a sirloin burger w/onions would ya?  (Oh, BTW...onions do a number on me too!)

Take it easy sweetie.....sip soup, water, and relax.  Hope you feel better soon!

I haven't tried burger yet (unless you count smashed up salsbury steak) and I'm a month out.  I did have a bit of a piece of lettuce from a cesar salad (think 1" square) and it was okay.   At any rate, I'm shocked you can eat that much.  I can only get in about 3 bites of cottage cheese and I'm done.  I don't feel full but if I keep going it's coming back up!  I guess I'm somewhat jealous if you can get to 5-6 bites at only 2 weeks out!

Take it slow (like everybody already said)

Well, I'm a little over two weeks out.  So far I've had soft cheeses, fish, mashed potatoes, soft fruits, soups, scrambled egg,  chicken puree, pudding, yogurt. (yogurt and pudding sf and ff)

Perhaps I shouldn't be eating chicken like that.    I did (inadvertently) have yogurt with sugar in it in Brazil and it made me sick.  I thought I was eating FF and SF, but it had sugar.

I've been nauseated for two days now.  Went to my PCP and got Zofran and it seems to help some.

I try to have a drink of some sort with me all the time and sip.  Crystal Light, tea with truvia, grape juice, water.

Do you think Grape juice is too acidic?

Grape juice would have caused me major agony where you are now. I would wonder if the nausea might be acid related. Are you taking an acid reducer?

I'm jealous that real food even sounded good to you. I was nauseous for 6+ months, and when I thought something sounded good, I would have a bite, and never want to eat, see or smell it again.

Sometimes, something would upset my stomach, and there seemed to be no rhyme or reason, but it happens less and less often, so is probably just a healing thing. I'm glad you're able to at least enjoy some food.

I d don't know what it is, but I feel I can eat whatever so I give it a try and it goes down fine with no problems. I was expecting some heaving or adversion to some foods, but it hasn't happened yet so I guess my desire to eat got the best of me so I eat. I have slowed down quite a bit today and back on liquids, protein shakes, jello, applesauce, yogurt. I did have a bit of chicken salad with the mayo and that was quite yummy. Drinking banana scream now and maybe some soup a bit later. My protein allottment has gone down today, but my liquids are up to par.

Karen-

Your protein allotment doesn't have to go down because you're not CHEWING IT!

Banana Scream is protein...if I remember correctly somewhere around 25 g per serving?  Guess what?  That also counts as fluids intake, so 6-8 0z of fluid taken care of along with each protein serving.

It's a double header!

Sip, sip sip...constantly...but work those shakes in, too!

I don't want you to have the dehydration problems I had!

Take care!

I have at least one protein shake a day., Drinking a chocolate unjury one now with low carb/low sugar milk and it is a delight. I had a bit of soup blended up, some cottage cheese, eggs, soft,  and maybe salmon for dinner; that should be soft enough, right. I am now on track and I really want to drop this subject.
