Thanks Val!  I hate all of my avies once I shrink them to the 100 x 100 pixels.  I wish our avie's could be a little bigger for the sake of detail!  Yours looks good, maybe I should try to crop more of my face so my eyes don't look so dark and squinty!

I miss you, btw!  How was the tightwad trail with Brandy yesterday?

From the same Protein Paper on VitaLady's sites. "...The higher the number the better. It is only how easily the (normal) body can absorb them. The last few need to be blended to make complete protein. Because we've been have smaller stomachs and rerouted, we don't process the undigested proteins properly and malabsorb most of them. Therefore, we need the more highly absorbed, pre-digested protein supplements...whey which is pre-digested (aka hydrolyzed)...in order to get the proper nutrients our bodies need and are no longer able to get from food..."

Yup!!  What Gina said!  This is one of the reasons that I still prefer to have protein shakes.  I like getting my proteins from whole grains and nuts too, so knowing that I'm not absorbing those kinds of proteins as easily as protein shakes, I still rely on them (protein shakes) daily.  I mean, there's only so many eggs a girl can eat after awhile!  Lol!

Does this mean you shouldn't just get your protein from food?  What about people who are whey-intolerant?

No, I say get a combination of proteins from various sources that work for you. Let your labs be your guide. Folks who are whey intolerant have to look for other sources. If they want the ease of protein shakes for some of their protein, there are egg and soy-based varieties.
