I would like to know if there is a DS'er on this forum who has had the DS and maintained at goal or at least within 40 lbs of goal for over 15 years?

Thank you so much for your responses!

I don't think there is anyone who posts here, but here's an article about a lady who is 12 years out and 70 years old.  Its on page 4 I think...

Started researching the DS in Dec 2008.  2 years and one baby later(my 3rd), I'm finally switched!

Hi Janie,
Not on this forum or at least I don't think so. There's a gentleman that meets with some of our folks in KY that's something close, if not longer than 15 years out and still close to goal.

Hello! This is my first post. I was interested in your question. I am 12 1/2 years out and i have approx. 5 or more people i know personally. That had the DS over 10 years or more ago. I can say at least for myself i stay within 10 # of my lowest wt. And most of the people i know have also. I started out at 350# and  i got down to 163 and i stay between 163-173. Right now 163. Keep taking your vitamins that is important. I have even had 2 children after the DS. I hope this helps. Katy

Wow! Some really great responses....I posed this question as I am a past VBG'er revised RNY'er who is intensely researching all forms of revision....I will be revised to an ERNY as of May 20th...The reason being, My insurance will not pay for DS....I'm a very high risk patient because of (3) past abdominal surgeries and most surgeons would not take my case on...I have found 3-4 who will but again...Insurance will not cover it...But I really wanted to know what kind of stats the DS'ers were having....Looks really great!!! Much better than RNY....

Thank you all for the wonderful responses...I so appreciate your time...Good Luck....Hope to be on that loser's bench with you all next week.
