Hi Gina, it says 1 D3 a day, but how much, 50,000 IU or 25,0000, or 10,000, on a regular basis? I know to start with 50,000 IU  a day for a month Michelle, VitaLady, told me, then 10,000 IU a day till my surgery, get tested and to the tweaking, would this be correct?

The regular DS schedule is 1 - 50,000IU D3 a day. Sounds like you're on the RNYr fix-it schedule at 1 - 50,000 D3 for 30 days and 10,000 D3 a day until your DS surgery.
Good luck bringing up your D!

I thought that we were not supposed to take Multivitamin with Calcium because the Multivitamin had iron in it?  I am off here?   :)

The iron is canceled out by other vitamins as well as calcium. That's why we have to take iron alone except for vitamin C and copper.

I could be wrong but I doubt if I am far off.

I was under the assumption that that much vit A could really mess you up.  Too much vit A in your system and your bones get brittle and can fracture from simple daily activities.

(I am not trying to be an ass)  My vitamin A was 24, the surgeon said GET VIT A NOW!!!

I am simply playing devils advocate I guess.  I am trying to understand.  I took a nutrition class and have done quite a bit of research on nutrition for several years leading up to deciding on what type of surgery to get (settled on DS).  I normally take 15,000iu daily (5k 3 times) but surgeon added 50,000iu daily for two weeks only.  Is it so that it doesn't build up and reach the higher levels that are dangerous for the human body?

I know your liver can store vit A for up to a year (I would image that is pre-op liver not malabsorbtion post-op liver though) so should I take more than my 15k a day after my two weeks are up?

Thanks for your time (whoever answers this)

The 12 Tender irons you see in this post are the chewable 25mg tablets for 300mg. The new Tender iron capsules would be 5 capsules and 300mg, and they never gave me any trouble but some folks get "motor" burps with them. In fact, when I was bringing my iron markers up, I took 300mg of Tender iron in the afternoons and 2 Proferrin ES tablets at bedtime. When I combined Proferrin and Tender, my numbers came up nicely. Now I only take 180 mg of Tender daily and 1 Proferrin 3 times a week.

When you first start taking larger doses of iron, start slowly by taking 1 capsule a day for several days, then add a second capsule for a few days, and so forth until you get the entire 300mg dose working without any issues. Sneak up the iron, as Michelle would say. :)

Currently I'm taking 5 vitalady iron capsules per day, but will DEFINITELY take your advice on the Proferrin ES tablets.  Where do you purchase them, and how much do they run?  If need to up my vitamin K too.....I only been taking one but I  heard I can take more.  I need maybe 4 times a day,  my circulation, and my numbers are low. Plus I scare easily.
