Yes my doc said the same thing about depression. Whats really sad about that is that many people could be cured or helped out by having the surgery! But my doc said they can use that against someone having surgery.
My doc also said some of the things on this list arent strong enough to list on my application. hmmm not sure about that... so I'm going to write a letter to OHIP stating all my comorbidities, and why I think I should have DS surgery.
My doc's office had me write a letter to my ins co before they even ASKED, detailing my diet history. *I* had to write it, and address it to the ins co. They submitted it with all their findings. I got approved in under 2 wks.
