How Long Was YOUR Longest Stall?

So, I'm still hovering in the late 220s, early 230s.   Mostly just plain ole 230.    How long was YOUR longest stall, and when your weight loss did pick back up (if it did, that is), did it slow considerably? Thanks, all!!

HI HI HI  My longest stall thus far has been just over 2 weeks.  I would say however that your body is just adjusting.. look how much you've lost!! 93 pounds is frankly outstanding in such a short amount of time. Your body has to catch up. I've seen a bunch of folks say the same thing so it seems totally normal.  You go girl!  Elizabeth

Well for me, I'm in one right now that's been around for two weeks.  But, I did catch a cold this weekend and I dropped a pound this morning, so maybe it's over.  Even if I don't lose a pound more, this has been worth it.  I'm down over 100 pounds since surgery and (other than the cold) I'm feeling better than I have in ten years.

Hi Sarah, Great question.  Lets hope some of the DS grads answer this one.  I'm with you -my current and only stall to date has lasted 4 weeks. I cant shake the scales below 220lbs.  I feel like I have been there forever!! Before that I was loosing steady at 2 -3 lbs a week - regular. I wonder what brings these stalls on?

Hey Cute Girl! I am still pre-op, but I wanted to tell you something about my body that seems similar to yours.  When I was younger and on my diets.  I would always start out about 320, that was my panic number.  Anyway, I ALWAYS stalled at 230.  It was like a magic number and my body would just stop. I had a 4 week stall on a 600 calorie liquid diet with no cheating! I am about 5'4 1/2". Needless to say this made me crazy! This is the upside. When the stall finally does break, and it will.  It seemed every pound I lost I could see.  I dropped sizes so quickly that I did not have the time to shop to keep up.  I know when I first start on a diet I can't see any change for about 50 lbs, and that is HARD.  But you are at that magic weight where you will really see and feel EACH pound and inch you loose from now on. Hang in there!  You are so incredibly beautiful!  You have done sooooooo terrific!  I am going to try to be just like you !!! Love and Hugs Paula

I guess I am sort of a graduate. I am out a year now and I weighed 165 at my 8th month anniversary, I was 162 at my 11th month, saw 158 the week before my 1 year, and on my year mark I was 165 so, I considered that a 4 month stall. Now, I did get my period right after the anniversary and today I am back down to 158. I really believe things have slowed to a snails pace for me now and I am going to have to work to get to my goal. I remember having, I think it was, a 4 week stall right at 200-202 I just could not get under 200 but, that was a point where I had a hard time loosing past before WLS. I think you have lost a lot of weight for such a short time and you will start loosing again. I know how frusterating it can be. If you want to shake things up, do something different than you have been doing, eat more protein, less carbs or more carbs if you haven't been having many. Drink more water and exercise more or less than you have been. or just go to the store and buy some patience, It hasn't helped me any but, I bought mine a while ago and I think I must have forgot to water it, maybe I'll try some fertilizer and let ya know how that works. ~Jessie

First, let me say I have lost SOMETHING every month...my eighth month was only 2#.  Sometimes I would lose nothing all month long until just a few days before my anniversary date, so sometimes my stall would be as much as 3 weeks. Don't despair, the scales will move again. Sharon S.

Well, if I ever start losing again, I would call this my longest stall of 5 months.....but I may be at goal. I went three weeks before I broke out the Krispy Kremes.

My longest stall was 6 weeks long, if you don't count the fact that my weight has been stable for the last six months. After that stall, I had my biggest month ever (other than the first month), and then things slowed down to a comfortable 4lb a month steady pace.

From months 8-10 I only lost 3 lbs. then I got sick and lost 13 more lbs very quickly this month in month 11. I think making my calories go very low would have had the same effect without me having to be sick though.
