3 Year Ujpdate
I had DS on April 21, 2004. I am a 52 yo male, 6'-6" tall and my heighest weight was 486 pounds. I got down to 238 lbs. I currently weigh 252. I am not at all happy with the 14 lb regain but I am ecstatic with the 234 lb loss. I went from a size 62" pants to a current size 40. My shirts went from a 24" neck to a 17". I take my vitamins and other supplements daily. I lost my CPAP machine the day after surgery and have not used it since. The only problems I have experienced have been surgery for a hernia repair last year, low potassium that I take supoplements for, and my last blood test showed my vitamin D was a little low. I am off all other medications. I am scheduled this Monday for a endoscopy for a possible ulcer, but I really don't think I have one.
Am I happy with the DS.....YES...If I had to go back every year and lay back on the table I would do it in a heartbeat. It gave me my life back. I have actually been living the last 3 years as opposed to existing.
If I can answer any questions for anyone fell free to email me. I will get back to you. I wish each of you much success as you battle this dreadful disease.

How awesome! Do you think your 14lbs ended up being leveling? At 6'6" you seem to be fit and trim! How great is it to be able to move, climb, run and tie your shoes! I am two years out and maintaining. Always playing with 5 pounds, but I will play with 5 pounds up and down any day instead for 110.
Congrats on a huge success.
