Topic: 1 Year Anniversay Celebrated....With More Surgery
I'm AWAKE and I'm ALIVE!
Well my first year post op was not as smooth as I had hoped for. However it wasn't terrible either.
Over the past year I have dealt with random abdomenal pain. Many ER trips, lots of IV's, blood work, 8 ctscans, 2 EGDs, 1 small bowel follow through, 1 HIDA scan, 1 ultra sound and 2 more surgeries later Dr. Irgau thinks he finally got the problem resolved.
The day before my Surgiversay I was admited by Dr. Irgau to the hospital because of this stupid pain which he is very familiar with me and my case.
Well on my Surgiversary I was having another Diagnostic Lap... FINALLY the problem was present during surgery and Dr. Irgau fixed it. My bowel was wrapping and unwrapping around a small band of scar tissue.
Back in December I had another Diagnostic Lap and Dr. Irgau fixed an internal hernia... However he feels now this was the root of the problem all along..
I must say though. Even through all the crap I'd do everything over. Dr. Irgau has been great, as well as Dr. Peters who came to the ER on several occassions to see me.
I've lost 140lbs and asdei from the random pain I feel great 99% of the time, no more high blood preasure, no more sleep apnea and working out 6 days a week is awesome!

PS: Missed all that didn't make it. You know who you are!!!!!I am hoping to be at the next meeting. Just got back from Colonial Williamsburg VA with my family. We had a fantastic vacation. I got in a car accident on the way home.....everyone was okay but my poor little car looks really messed up. I hydro planed into a Chevy Tahoe that had a trailer hitch attached. The Tahoe escaped without a scratch.....my little Nissan Sentra didn't do too well....the trailer hitch went thru the radiator and maybe even the engine....had fluids all over the place. On a good note, I did come back 2 pounds lighter probably from all the walking we did.

I haven't heard anything from my secret pal. Is it still going on from when you first set it up?

Lynne was really glad I asked her to come. She said it was very informative and loved the fact that the group is so diverse.
And thanks for awarding me the "Star". I'll keep it safe until I bring it back next month.
