Topic: Hello from Lower Slower Delaware
Good Evening from Lower Slower Delaware ! Just me checking in to see how everyone is doing. It seems like it has been forever since I have been on here. Debbie and I are both doing good. We both have been very busy. We were working taking care of a 93 year old man in his home ( POPPOP). He passed away about 3 weeks ago. We both took it hard for he was like family. Debbie's boyfriend ( Kent) has had alot of health issues and Debbie's hernia has come back. She is using it as her Golden ticket finally and has an appointment this month with a plastic surgeon. As for me I started dating and actually have met someone who has had gastric bypass. Didn't know it when we met but discovered it over our lunch conversation. He eats very healthy so that will help to keep me on track too. Maybe he was God sent.  Enough about us how is everyone doing ? How is the support group going ? We do miss you guys and will have to get up to a group soon. See you Lighter. Joanne

Elissa, thanks so much!  I do pretty well in ignoring it, but recently I feel like the "light at the end of the tunnel" is gone.  I was really hoping for something on the MRI! Thanks for all your support and everything you do for all of us!

I know it was a bad choice. I was cooking dinner for the family and ate some. I go to the Drs. today and am going to let them know I messed up. I thought some of this being hungry would go away but it's not.

Amy you are the my Hero. You are such a trooper. To be in constant pain is just a horrible thought.  I feel soooo bad that you are going through this. I pray the Dr's will find the source of the problem and eliminate it so you can move on. If you ever need to be cheered up, email me and I'll send you my number. I can't take your pain away, but I can listen.

Maybe you need a little get away. Winter is depressing for some people. Last snow day I got on my computer and traded in my time share towards a cruise. Now I have something to work towards and look forward to. I know its tough but try to stay positive and focused. You are doing so good in so many ways.

It seems a little early to eat shrimp. Pasta is hardly a good source of protein. You'd do better with a soft boiled egg. Go for the protein 1st before you start on carbs and starchy stuff.
Be sure to let the Dr's know, they should advise you.

Had my surgery on 1-26-11. Almost 2 weeks ago. I'm very hungry. I'm now able to eat some cream of wheat cereal and protein shakes. This is not filling. I'm very hungry. I ended up eating about a 1/4 cup of pasta and 3 very small shrimp which I cut up very small. I had no problem with this. I know I wasn't supposed to do this.  Was anyone else hungry after surgery? I was ready to eat a couple of days after surgery. I go to the Dr's tomorrow. I had the surgery done at Crozier Hospital, Dr. Katz did the surgery. Dr. Katz and his staff are all very nice.

Thanks,

Mary

Congratulations, Elissa!!!  Sorry I'm a week late with this.  Obviously, I don't get on this site often.  LOL

Hope to be at this month's meeting. :-)
