Good Morning Delaware ! How's the weather in your area ? It is alittle chilly in Lower Slower Delaware. I hope everyone is getting ready for that great Turkey Day ! Remember Turkey is great protein but it does make you tired. I am going to cook a turkey for sandwiches and I still love old fashion turkey soup so I will cook that this weekend. Everyone seems to of had good news this week so I'm sure we all have something to be thankful for. I will be thankful that I am getting that new roof. I got a call yesterday that I was given wrong information from human resources and now I have to pay $1079 a month back to the state for my health insurance for September, October and November. Oh the good news is they will bill me. So generous of them ! Right ! They could of given me the right information to start with and let me decide. Sorry to vent but this does upset me ! I still have my faith and no one can touch that ! I have to call personnel today for them to tell me how I can pay it back. I would think they could deduct so much from my pay each pay. I have to say that sure made my decision for early retirerment easy for that is out of the question for now. I prayed for God to help me make the right decision. I have always beleived in watch what you pray for, for God answers your prayers but not always the way you want him to. Well I guess my prayer was answered ! I still say thank you God and know all will work out ! Hope all has a blessed day ! See you lighter. Joanne

"Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment."

Ok everyone I know this doenst apply at all times. With the holidays here we need to remember if we are struggling or tempted in any fashion, food, alcohol, other addictions we need to remember this and get through this moment then move on to the next. Hopefully enjoying the company you have present and making them feel special. We sometimes take things and people for granted but remember to enjoy them while you can, we have time to dream and or reflect later. Be in the NOW.
I hope you all have a happy thanksgiving!!! Im going into the kitchen to get some things set up today since i learned monday im having everyone at my apt and I work tonight.

Good Morning Joanne and Everyone,
Tuesday started out rainy and around 52 degrees but ended up at 38 by dinner time. Yikes. I spent the day doing some of my preliminary Thanksgiving dinner stuff; made potato salad, macaroni salad, cooked the eggs for my famous deviled eggs, and took the fresh pumpkin filling out of the freezer. Wednesday I will make a pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting, do the deviled eggs, get my holiday dishes out of the shed and wash them up, and take the rest of my food out of the freezer. I bought pies this year because every time I try to make one from scratch, they don't turn out. I'm no baker I guess.
Good news...I found a job! Or rather, a job found ME. This sounds silly but you know those emails we all get that say, "read this prayer and send it to a certain number of friends...etc etc...and something great will happen the next day.."?? Well, I did some Dali Lama thing on Monday, and I got a phone call on Tuesday. Last week, Ed and I took Alex and his girlriend for a "date" and while the 2 were seeing a movie, he and I went to the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk to enjoy the surf. On a whim, I decided to stop in and fill out an application at the restaurant "Victoria's." The manager called while we were on our camping trip, but called me again Tuesday. It looks like he's going to hire me. I am so pumped!. The only bad thing is I have to tell Mark I found year round work that will pay me $3 more an hour. I am the only experienced cook he has so I think he will be pretty upset, but he knows I have been looking for more substantial employment. I hope he can find someone that can do a good job for him. I have to take this job and hope he understands that.
Ed is still looking for work but is pretty sick with bronchitis right now. He sounds awful. I might go to Elkton Wednesday with Sarah to pick up her hubby and the 2 babies for Thanksgiving. They've been staying there with his uncle because I just can't support them all. Sarah and Karissa have been here with us so she can stay at her job and Kay-Kay can stay in school. I hope my son-in-law can find work too. Like Joanne, we have put the offer out there for any "strays" to have dinner with us if they have nowhere else to go. There's always plenty here.
Here's to a fine Thanksgiving Holiday to all, and God Bless.
