Thanksgiving was very nice here with all the kids with us.   We had a 12 pound turkey and I put it into the oven at 11:30am.  I didn't expect it to be done until at least 4pm, but it was done by 2:30 so the last minute struggle to get everything else cooked was a little stressful.  Sarah had to work till 4 so I tried to time it so she could eat with us.  I got it all done and held it in the oven for an hour, then we finally ate without her.  She was ok with that because she got home shortly after and the food was still warm.

Today(Black Friday), Ed and I will represent Troop 105 for The Salvation Army by ringing bells at Super Fresh on Rt. 1 from 10am-1pm.  Alex and fellow Scout Sam will ring bells on Saturday.  Stop by, drop some change in the bucket and say Hello.  We decided to do the bells because in previous years we have always donated financially to many local charities, but are simply unable this year, so we are donating our time.

On a final note; a plea for a nice home for Sarah's cat...SkatCat is a spayed female.  They are being evicted and must find a home for her.  She's almost 2 years old.  If anyone is interested or knows someone who can take SkatCat, please leave me a message here.  Thank you.

Happy Turkey Day  ! Greeting to all from Lower Slower Delaware !  I am ready for Turkey and maybe a nap afterwards ! You all know Turkey is good protein but makes you tired. I am getting ready to put the bird in the oven and head to the church. My friend dropped over and said she knew the kids were not here. Boy you can here a pin drop. I may go to my neices house to night and get them to play Apples to Apples. This is a good game to put on your Christmas list. K Mart has it tomorrow for $11.99. It is regularly $24.99. Lots of fun and laughs. Up to 10 people can play. I love it !! See you lighter. Joanne

Ok Guys, I am here. It is now Thanksgiving so Happy Thanksgiving to all. I got up early this morning and went to K Mart. They had Sterling Silver Chains 50% off. I got a sterling silver heart with a few of Bob's ashes in it but I had to get my own chain. They were almost $200 from the funeral director and that was to expensive for my blood. Debbie got a tear drop and my son a cross. That was my Christmas present to them.  I also bought the kids Pj 's 60% off.  I went to the jewelers to get my heart engraved but they were closed so I will do that after work tomorrow. A friend dropped over when I got back and brought me some s/f pudding. I am going to do a few things around the house . Put a turkey in the oven and then I am off to church. Kathy , keep bringing in them stray kids. You may be the only family they know !  If I wasn't going to the church I would stray on over for some of that potatoe salad myself. I love it but never make it.  Hope all has a blessed day ! See you lighter. Joanne

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I did almost all of my cooking Tuesday and Wednesday so there's not much more to do.  The turkey is soaking in brine(makes it juicier) and I will put it in the oven around 11:00am.  Sarah has to work and won't be home till 5pm so we will wait for her.  I will make the mashed potatoes after the turkey is done, and warm the rolls, green bean casserole, corn on the cob, and yams at the last minute.  I made potato salad, my son-in-law's favorite, on Tuesday so it will be at it's best when it's time to eat. I did the deviled eggs Wednesday, made pumpkin bread with cream cheese icing, and mixed the stuffing.  It's all ready to be finished.  I went lazy on the pies this year because I SOOO stink at homemade ones.  Bought them at the store.

The kids and grandkids are all here, along with a stray or two.  No one is alone during the holidays if I know about it....they will be welcomed here.  The sad part is, the strays we take in for holiday food and friendship are always friends of my kids' whose parents for one reason or another, have rejected them and they have nowhere to go.  I make room for them here.

I didn't make anything with Splenda this year because if I do, I will eat it and I just don't need the carbs and calories.  I got myself a sugar free pumpkin pie and sugar free cool whip, that's it.

I hope everyone has a blessed and safe holiday.

Today is my year anniversary having the surgery.

OK, OK...I"ll bite, since you asked...

Yes, I'm here, but lurking most of the time.

For Thanksgiving, I will be spending it with my parents in Landenberg, PA. My brother and his two kids are coming down this afternoon and will be spending the night there. It will be a full house, but should be fun. Mom's cooking, as usual, so I will just help out, and keep the kids occupied when needed. I'm hoping to go on a nice long walk with them tomorrow.

Then I'm going to my sister's house (near Great Adventure/Six Flags in NJ) on Friday to visit...my brother-in-law's parents are visiting as well. (They are the ones whose condo I stayed at in Florida in October, so I would like to see them again while they are "up north.")  I may go with them on Saturday (meaning I will have to spend the night at my sister's (already full) house) to Princeton's McCarter Theater to see the Nutcracker, but I'm not sure about that yet.

When I get home (either Friday night or Saturday), I will do some cleaning and relax a bit. I was hoping for a quiet weekend, but I don't think that's in the cards...

Hope everyone has a wonderful, blessed, relaxing Thanksgiving, and a healthy, happy and safe upcoming holiday season!

What's everyone else up to? Don't let me be the only posting now, ya hear??

OK so who is out there?  Yesterday i saw a bunch of responses it was nice to know people are up and at em.. Im sure we are all busy getting ready for the holidays and all that is involved.  Dont forget to check your pulse are you really there alive and living in the moment?  Is  it going so fast because your too busy to take 5 min for you? Even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom for 5 min take 5 for you.  So what are you doing to prepare?  Is someone else doing most of the work this year?    Ok so lets see how we are all doing!!
