Topic: RE: Friday Roll Call
Good Saturday Morning. (It's always "the next day" when I post in the roll call.
Friday was very strange...unsettling for me. Apparently, Beebe's anesthesiology guy will not accept the cardiac clearance for my procedure of Monday because I haven't seen Dr. Dahr for evaluation since last January 8. So my ablation is postponed until after my appointment with him on January 20. I makes me mad because I scrambled all week to get labs, EKG, x-rays, transcripts and clearance letter faxed...and now at the last minute they aren't happy with it. Oh well, my well-being is their first priority and I am glad they are being really cautious.
My daughter is really having depression problems and I can't seem to help her. She's just so anxious about their situation and is at risk of relapsing into substance abuse. I am scared for her. The doctor has her on meds but I truly believe she is over-medicated because she is like a statue most of the time....has no clue what is going on around her. Last night she wanted to go to Dover but all they will do is medicate her even more, then send her home in 72 hours. I am watching her very closely. I took the van keys away from her, which I threatened to do if I found out she was driving around wasting gas, running her crackhead friends around Lewes, and not using it to find work. Well, she got caught trying to steal a bottle of soda at WaWa so she no longer has a car to drive. If she needs to go somewhere, I will take her. The van is in my name and I pay the insurance so I have that right. Being so over medicated and driving is not very safe, OR smart.
Joanne, I was able to copy the guardianship application so it will save me $20. Thanks for the suggestion. I have to have 2 apps because there are 2 fathers. Both have agreed that my intervention is what's best for the kids. Once I get temporary guardianship, I can apply for the services we need for the kids. Too bad the same services aren't available to these families trying to stay together. There's more available if the family is separated. Very sad statement about the system.
I got on the scale at Dr. Moise's office on Thursday...it said I weighed 169 pounds! I told them that was WAY OFF. When I got home and got on my scale, I am still at 155. Whew. I have however, cut out the sandwiches and carbs....back to the meat, eggs, fish and cheese. LOL. The old pouch is still working.

Hi Joanne, I've already started on my weekend. I went to Trader Joe's after work and you'll never guess who I ran into. OK I'll tell you. Dr Irgau. He hugged me and told me I looked great. I said I need to come to see him, but was waiting til I got 20 lbs off. He said he hoped I still get my labs done at least 1 time a year. I am due, but am a little behind cause I went to Hawaii for 2 weeks in December. OBTW I lost 25 lbs since November 9th. I upped the gym and stopped grazing.
Life is good,
Tonite I went to Shop Rite for my Mom and some old folks at the place I work 1 day a week, I'm taking orders on Thursday, picking up Friday and will deliver it Saturday. The 1 lady is blind, the other doesn't drive. No family nearby to help. I get my husband's military discount at Shoprite, so I don't have to charge them anything extra. They are on fixed incomes and it certainly makes me feel good. If they need a ride my daughter does the transportation for me. If they need a Mr. Fixit, my DH can do that. It is turning into a nice little part time business.
Tomorrow I'm getting up early to do highlight's in my neighbor's hair. Her sister is coming later to have her hair done. She is celebrating her 60th wedding anniversary. Imagine 60 yrs. WOW. I need to do my Mom's hair too, cause I am taking to see her sister and all my cousins, that is if we don't get too much snow. If it snows, I'm sure I'll be on snow removal duty. Joy Joy.
Sunday is my last day of the Christmas Season at Longwood Gardens. I will be stationed at the ice skating rink from 12:30 to close. I pray I will stay warm. I have my long john's ready.
Monday I'll be at the gym by 6:30 then I give blood. Seems I'm on the Life saver Blood program. They need B negative blood. Gosh my house is rarely quiet and I never have a minute to spare. Then I do better when I keep busy.
Okay darlin, take care and I hope to see you at Victory in 2 weeks. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Topic: RE: Day 5 on 5 Day Pouch Test
Congrats Deanna on your success!! It is hard and we have only been given a tool. I had my reality check with the hernia surgery, it forced me to go back to the basics, after surgery I had the liquids for a few days, then the progression to soft foods, which ended up being about 2-3 weeks long because I couldn't tolerate the heavier foods. It was good for me too! I have never tried the 5DPT but I have read up on it and have the program printed and tucked away at home if I ever felt the need. I'm grateful I'm still maintaining at my goal weight now but am diligent with water, vitamins and the amount of foods (and more importantly what type of food) I put in this pouch!

Good morning - I am trying to be more conscientious to stop in and post not just read! I am so glad this week is over, another busy one. I think my plans for the weekend include some relaxing, it sounds like the weather could go either way tomorrow, so...depending on that I will stay home or venture out a bit.

Topic: RE: Thursday Roll Call
Hi everyone,
Thursday was very busy for me due to my upcoming surgery on Monday the 12th. First thing in the morning, I took Sarah and Jason's EBT card to the Milford Sav-A-Lot and got tons of canned, frozen, and freezable breads and stuff. You can sure get a heck of a lot more for the dollars there than at other grocery stores. I had 4 full shopping carts and after unloading, bagging/boxing, loading into the car, and then taking it all in the house and putting it away, I was exhausted. Then I had to scram for my pre-surgery visit with my doctor, then over to Beebe for an EKG. Anesthesia was not satisfied with my most current one from last March. It shows all 3 of my heart attacks and they just wanted to be sure there's nothing new since then. After all of that, I had to go to Rite-Aid and Food Lion for stuff I couldn't get in Milford. When I finally got home, it was nearly 5pm and Thursday is scout night. I couldn't do it. All I wanted to do was get on the heating pad and rest, so that's what I did. I also heard from my PCP about my rheumatoid arthritis screen...it was positive. I am devastated. I see how bad my mom has gotten over the last 10 years and it is so sad. I just don't want that to happen to me. I took my muscle relaxers and went to sleep. It's all I could do after such a trying day. I was just too weary to give any more.
I see my pain management doc today at 10, then I have to call Beebe after 2pm to find out what time I need to be there on Monday for my surgery. It's outpatient and I will go home a couple of hours after, as long as there are no complications. I don't anticipate anything bad happening. Ed will go with me because they won't allow me to drive after anesthesia.
Something funny---after that long day, the thing that was the last straw for me was finding dog poo on both my shoes. Insignificant but enough to make me give up and call it a day. LOL.

Hi Joanne & Delaware,
Thanks for the Congrats, I got on the scale today and I have lost a total of 5.6lbs. I am excited about that. I continued today with my Day 6 and it very well. Lots of protein and no carbs or junk. I just finished packing for my weekend with the youth in Ocean City, MD at their annual youth rally, nothing like 5,000 kids worshiping God, I am so excited. I am taking my computer so hopefully I can keep up with everything that is going on..
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
