My weekend was fairly peaceful and uneventful.  The kids left for Michigan with the babies Friday night at about 9pm.  The house is in a bit of a mess from digging around for their clothes, toys, blankets, etc.  They hemmed and hawed all day Friday instead of getting more organized for the trip so the last few minutes before they left was a little chaotic.  On Thursday, Riley had gotten into Sarah's meds and ate about 20 Clonipin, was taken to Beebe and watched for several hours, then sent home.  Friday, he was still drugged and mostly incoherant so that slowed us down a little in getting ready for them to leave.  He couldn't walk well yet so someone had to be with him at all times, and he was very combative and hard to deal with.  By the time they were ready to leave, Riley actually let me give him hugs and kisses Bye-Bye.  Since he was still a bit wobbly on his feet, I picked him up.  I should have known better because within 2 hours my back hurt so bad and felt "locked up" on the right side.  As of last night(Sunday night)he was still a little out of it but getting better, according to Sarah in my phone conversation with her.

Saturday I went to BJ's Warehouse and got a few things that we needed that are cheaper in bulk.  If you really analyze the prices vs. the weights or sizes of whatever you are buying, alot of products actually cost more there than buying multiples of it at a regular store.  The meats were a bargain, as were milk, bread,  and some toiletries.  Later on, I cleaned the iguana tank and started on the house chores.

Sunday, Ed and I went to Walmart and the Concord Pet Supply to get the last few things we needed.  I cooked a pork tenderloin in the oven, and made pulled BBQ for him to take to his "Sober Super Bowl" party.  It was really good and there is none left.  I pretty much had the house to myself so instead of finishing the cleaning, I just vegged out and watched TV.  I DID watch most of the Super Bowl.  It was a good game.  I couldn't seem to satisfy my -hunger- and ate some real weird stuff...first I had scrapple, then I ate some almonds, then some more scrapple.  I had an Atkins protein bar, chewed about 4 big glasses of ice, and ate some cheese.  I finally went to sleep, full but still not satisfied.  Never did figure out what I needed.

I have millions of appointments this month so today I am going to enter them all in my laptop alert calendar so I don't forget them.  Hope all had a great weekend.

Hi B.J.

Easter Seals is a wonderful program, but she wouldn't go, it is all we can do to get her out of the house for doctor appointments.  She doesn't like to go anywhere any more because she wears depends.

I wish we could do more for her then what we are.  It is sad to see her like this.

Hello Ladies,
Not doing anything special this weekend.  I did pick up some great deals at Dollar General.  They have their Christmas stuff 90% off!  I got loads of 3 pk shirt boxes for $ .15 a pack, tissue paper for $ .10 a pack and glass Christmas plates for $ .15 each.  I just have to remember I have them before I buy for this Christmas!
BJ, Easter Seals is wonderful.  My sister lives with me (she's retarted) and attends daily.  Its the high point of her day.

Enjoy this great day!
Judy

I am weighing in at the top of my "allowed" 10-pound range, very very close to 180, so I really need to knuckle down. I have not been eating meals per se, just grabbing carbs here and there. Need to do more planning and less eating on the fly.

Just thought if I make this public announcement it will spur me into action or something.  :-/

Deanna, I don't know if this will help you or not -- but here in southern DE the Easter Seals organization in Georgetown has an adult day program for Alzheimer's patients -- they offer transportation via bus, meals, etc. It gives the family/caregivers a bit of respite time? I'm not sure if your MIL's health would permit something like this? Take good care of yourself above all, it is so tough going through something like this with a loved one.

Deanna, Not much planned here. I am cooking up lots of fresh veggies this morning to put in eggs. Then I am going to the trift store. My son is moving Debbie's Friend today. Her and her son (10) are moving in with me to share expenses. My grandkids spent the night with a friend and are staying for a movie/birthday party today. The house has been so quiet. I am going to sit quietly this evening and do my taxes. Tomorrow church and a luncheon afterwards. I haven't even thought about dinner yet. Hope all has a blessed weekend. See you lighter. Joanne

Good Morning Delaware

Well my weekend started at 430am when Doug's mom woke up and came out and kept telling him to get up and get her breakfast because she was hungry.  I stayed in bed until 500am.  We are starting her on Morphine long lasting today, so hopefully tonight when we give it to her it will help her sleep in tomorrow morning.  The latest we got to sleep in this week is 6am.  Doug and I both like to stay up late at night, but I am finding myself in bed lately between 10 and 11pm.  Hospice has been wonderful, they really do know what they are doing there.

Anyone planning anything exciting for this weekend?  Doug's sister is coming over around 9am and watching their mom so Doug and I can go to Seaford to Walmart and for him to get a hair cut.  Tomorrow is church and I am starting a new Bible study called "Fit for the King".  I am excited about this, I am now in 3 different Bible studies.

Anyone cooking anything good this weekend?  Do you want to share your receipes?  Today is leftovers and tomorrow who knows.  I need to think of something good, Hazel is getting harder and harder to cook for.

Enjoy your weekend, heat wave tomorrow it will be close to 50.
