Day Three No Smoking...
Thanks, Faye.
This time I have broadcasted that I've quit, even emailed my pastor and told my bosses (who are healthcare professionals). This way I am trying to psyche myself up to keep the patches on during the weekends and not take the weekends off so to speak. Everyone is rooting for me, hope I don't let them down.

Diane:
I would be lying if I said I didn't miss it. What keeps me going is thinking back at what I went through to make it to this point. I missed my cigarettes so bad that I had to go on Wellbutrin. It was a real struggle, but I made it for the Umpteenth time! I can finally say, after three years, I am not going back. I feel so much better. Good luck.

I quit 13 years ago. Think of this as the umpteenth time you quit, but umpteenth is the lucky number. THis is the time you are going to succeed! Dont look back and dont cheat, its one of the toughest things you will ever do. I havent had the urge fo many years. Get yourself a squeeze ball to keep your hands busy.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!
Hi Diane, I'm new here, haven't had my WLS yet, hopefully in June. I quit smoking in January and I really do feel so much better. It really got me what you said about the kids. I have a 7-year-old who is so happy that I've quit. I get tearful when I look at her and think that I was taking years away from our time together. And that keeps me going. Not to mention the cash I've saved! Need it for gas! Hang in there, chew on crushed ice, wash all the clothes in your closet to get the smell out, calculate how much money you're saving daily, make yourself think how gross it is everytime you see something that reminds you of cigarettes.
Good luck!
