Okay we have another amongst us that had to visit the ER. Sharon Hollis, lap band, had been having some pain inside on her side for more than a week. She went to St. Francis, sat there for more than a few hours, noone saw her, so she left, went home, got worse and went to Christiana. Thank goodness, Dr. Peters did an explorartory this Am and found scar tissue as the culprit. She was very groggy and couldn't remember where the scar tissue was found. She said the pain was already gone. She should be home in a day or two. Please if you think something is wrong, pain lasting more than a day or so, fever or whatever doesn't seem normal, call your PCP, CHRIAS or someone. Sharon is in room 3129. email info: http://www.christianacare.org/body.cfm?id=263 Elissa

Sorry to hear that Sharon had a problem, but so very glad they found it and have taken care of it. Rest and recover Sharon!!! ******************************************************* If I may add to the warning that Elissa gave ... for me I could not wait a day or so or I may have not made it. I am not trying to scare anyone, but it is the truth and we need to know it. It may save your life. My pain was sudden and very intense. It was not something I could just brush off and wait it out. I just "knew" it was a blockage and acted on that. I would rather err on the side of conservitism and take the chance of being embarrassed. Even when I was riding to the hospital, I had a thought poping up in the back of my mind ... "What if it is just some kind of gas ... you are going to be so stikin embarrassed." But I had to put my pride aside. Once there, the x-rays showed nothing (at my appointment Wednesday, Dr Peters just told me they won't show what we need - we need a cat-scan) but I still pushed, knowing there was a problem and I was not willing to bru**** off. I say, push, push, push ... if you have any concerns of a problem. Taking a risk with your life is not worth it.
