How much weight did you lose in the first 2 months? I am down 55 lbs, but I feel like I am stalling. And I know I am NOT getting in enought protein. I had some complications, so I am 3 weeks behind in eating. But Dr. I wants me to have in 80 grams by May 1. Its NOT happening. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Sorry this took so long. I'm pretty MIA with the new job and school. I don't get on but maybe 1 or 2 times a week. Are you supplementing with protein drinks? The only way I can get enough protein in is with drinks. I do 2 scoops of Nectar Ice Tea (46g protein 180 calories, 20oz water) every day. I know Elissa uses the unflavored Unjury in her Crystal Lite every day and she's 2 years out. There's also Sylvester Stallone's pudding that I've heard is good. You can also make your own protein pudding using the unflavored Unjury. Did you get any recipes during your PMRI classes. There was one that was good using ricotta and protein powder. There's also a great recipe page here and also on Susan Maria's site. www.bariactriceating.com The protein drinks take some getting used to so give it some time if you don't like them at first. They're definately an acquired taste.

Oh and I lost 42 pounds in the first 2 months so you're doing great with the 55 pounds. You will definately slow down after the initial shock wears off your body. Lots of people have sharts on their profiles that shows their monthly weight loss. I'm bad, I haven't updated in a while but I'm down 86 pounds this week.

you can also add cheese to most of your meals that will give you an extra 7 grams of protien in and drink some milk if you can tolerate it it is 8 grams for 8 ounces and it helps with fluid intake also go to dame tooters site she has lots of recipes on there filled with protein also do refried beans and melt the cheese in it it is like 14 grams of protein all your meats are 7 grams for 1 ounce you will get there sometimes it does take longer for certain people because there body has to catch up to the shock of the surgery but you are doing wonderful keep up the good job your friend vickie
