Clothing Exchange???

Hi, All, As someone FINALLY on the losing side, I wondered if any of the support groups have a clothing exchange. Since there is a dress code at my school, it would be great to switch nice clothing instead of trying to buy all the sizes. Thanks, Fran

At the PMRI meetings some people will bring clothing they cannot wear for others. I have done that a few times. What sizes are you looking for and are you tall or petit? I know the picnic we had last year there was a big table with clothes all sizes. What sizes are you looking for? If someone has some perhaps they will see this note and let you know. Debbie

What Debbie says! Post your stats & Sizes and we'll see what we can do. I usually bring my outgrown clothes with me to meetings and then give the leftovers to the Cancer Federation. I also shop there on occassion. I got a great pair of jeans a couple of weeks ago for $3. They look great! I'll be getting rid of my 16s soon and hopefully the 14s by the middle of summer.

Dear Debbie & Dineen, Thanks for your kind replies. I thought I had heard that one of the groups actually had a closet for a clothing exchange but maybe not? I'm in a size 26 at this time and I'm 5'6", so regular height. Anyway, thanks for your answers! I hope to meet you all sometime. Fran

Fran, I have a very nice yellow suit jacket and skirt (long) size 24 if you are interested I can bring to next meeting? I am 5'7". I have other 20's too. Let me know. Debbie

I do the PMRI , Healthy Beginnings (This Thursday) and if I have time I go to Healthy Journey in Delaware. Sometimes I hit a few in PA (my surgery was done in Philly so I try to go to those meetings when possible. Maybe we can meet this Thursday? The meeting on Silverside Road starts at 7PM. Good group of people and topics are always good! Let me know so I will bring clothing with me. Debbie

Downstate meetings I believe have clothing exchange. Joanne is one of the OH Group leaders and hopefully she will read this and let you know! I live to far to attend the Harrington meeting but one day this summer I plan on dropping in on her! I believe she runs a Wed mtg?

Debbie, Thanks for mentioning our meeting. I will hold you to coming to one this summer. You know that !!! Our meeting in Harrington is on Thursdays now. Yes we do have a clothing exchange. I set up bags with sizes and everyone puts their old stuff in them and takes what they want. I have alot of 20-24 but they are all winter. There is 2 really nice thrift stores in Rehobeth if anyone needs clothing and wants it cheap. I have bought some summer stuff there. I am in need of summer things myself size 18.
