Imitation crab
Hi gang!!
What's the skinny on imitation crabmeat? We can eat it, can't we? I love the stuff and had some for lunch today, but while eating it I began thinking about whether or not I should. The brand I had today was Louis Kemp, but normally I get the kind they sell in Sam's Club. As always....THANKS for all your help!!! You're an AWESOME group!!!!
Hi Cathy,
I would always rely on actual package information first, but if it's not listed you can search a product like that and get a general idea. Imitation crab is surimi, minced processed fish. Usually no fat, full of protein. A little high on the sodium end but if you don't have issues there I would say go for it! Good stuff and readily available on most salad bars.
