Cleaning out my closet

Four months out and 45 pounds down and the seasons are changing. Some stuff is really too big but a lot of the elastic waist and tops that were a little too tight are still okay. Spending this weekend trying things on and getting a pile for the clothing bank for poor women going to work, so I don't feel bad about giving stuff away. But here's the question: Are these clothes and pounds gone forever? Really don't need these clothes? What if? What if? what if?? I'm also doing this because I know I need to go shopping, and amazingly I find that intimidating -- sizes, styles. Aaaaahhhhhhh!!!!! I'm in a panic! Please, OH friends, some reassurance and support. Thanks, Carol

You must think of them as being gone forever. Give them to the clothing bank, take them to a meeting and see if there's anyone else who can use them for a few months until they shrink outa them. I am constantly overwealmed by the choices I have available to me now. I can't put an outfit together in a store to save my life! Drives me nutz and is fun all at the same time! I need to go to Maceys and have a personal shopper work with me.

Carol, That is a tough question to answer is it gone forever? According to my Dr if I am not careful its not. He said I could gain 50% of the 70% loss back. That is alot. So you have to watch and be careful of what you do. If you keep on top of it...you probably won't see that size again. If you hold on to them you will are like giving yourself permission to be 'heavy ' again. Do you really want to do that? In my opinion give them away.....give yourself permission to be the new you. Carol, Get rid of them fast. Someone can always use them. You will not gain the weight back as you did before but if you eat wrong you can gain weight. After putting your life at risk to have this surgery do you really think you will gain it back. Not very likely. Thanks to Deanna I had cloths all winter. It is so nice to shop for new cloths. I just bought some spring outfits. Be careful about buying to big. See you lighter. Joanne Hammond Obesity Help Chapter Leader
