Serotonin levels

I have a wierd question for those who might be medically gifted. I notice that I have mood swings and am wondering if it is from the serotonin or dopamine levels realeased in the brain. Serotonin levels are from gastric membranes and make you "happy" and can be natural such as eating poultry. I posed the question to my group at the hospital and they are doing some research for me, but I thought in the meantime i would ask some of you if anyone has run into this situation. Thanks in advance for any response and by the way my ONE year mark is in just 11 days and am at having lost 250 pounds, or just over 85% of my excess body weight. I have already lowered my goal twice LOL !!! I have only 44 more punds to get to 192. Am looking forward to getting to the 200 mark actually, but 192 puts me at a 25% BMI. All in all has been very very good for me. Joe Hutter Dover, DE

Serotonin is directly linked to depression. Many of the anti-depressant drugs (eg. Wellbutrin and Paxil) are used to increase the body's production of serontin. If your mood swings are uncontrollable, you need to see a psychiatrist. Remember that we all have mood swings and they are normal. When you feel as if you have lost control, then its time to see a pro. Congrats on th esmaller you!!!! Hope that this helps, Dwight "love to ride, live to ride"
