tuna question

When I buy tuna, I usually buy the albacore tuna in water in the 6oz. cans. Is there about 3 oz of tuna in there after I squeeze out all of the water? My scales are not really reliable, so I'm not sure and I don't want to over do it. What does everyone else do? Thanks to everyone for their constant support!!!!

Hi Debbie, I would say there is probably more like 4-5 oz after the liquid is out. I buy the little 3oz cans of tuna that come in a 3 pack. Starkist and Chicken of the Sea both have them. I buy there all the time. I am the only tuna eater in the house so I have less waste. Linda

Cathy, I found that I need some of the moisture from the canned tuna or it's too dry and I get uncomfortable eating it. You could also buy the pouch of tuna which has no extra water in it. Hope it works. Kathleen

I always thought that the 6 oz was NET weight, after draining. Get a small cheap diet scale (maybe you have one left from weigh****chers) to check.
