Hi all. Well I survived my Vacation to Orlando. Yes, I did the newest ride in Animal Kingdom, Mt Everest. Awesome. We did all 4 Disney parks Magic Kingdom, MGM, Epcot & Animal Kingdom. What a blast. I had an electric scooter, due to my recent knee surgery. So getting around was easy and Disney really caters to the handicapped. Even got to go on Thunder Mt twice to get back to the place where my scooter was parked. Space Misson was pretty tense, but really cool. The only ride I stayed away from was the Tower of Terror. Was afraid of dropping 5 stories and hurting my new knees. Did good with my food choices and had plenty of protein drinks with me. The best part of all was being able to get into the swimming pool, and do my laps. It was 86 degrees. My 6 wks was up on Wednesday. YIPEE!!! Talk about withdraw. I missed not getting into the pool more than I ever missed food pre-op. So if you have the chance to travel, go for it. Just go prepared. The resturants all gave me the ability to choose from the kids menu when I mentioned my nutritional needs. No problems at all. This trip was sooooo much better than my last trip in 2003. Minus 186 lbs made all the difference in the world. Glad to be back. Elissa Hart De ObesityHelp Chapter Leader

Elissa, What a great reward for you!! Who would have thought that we formerly-obesely overweight old ladies could have such a blast. And on 2 new knees! Welcome home! If I feel okay to come to the meeting Thursday I'll give you a call. Since they ended up doing open surgery I'm still feeling pretty punk. Thanks for the offer. Love, Kathleen
