It's the fact that caffeine can inhibit vitamin absorption. The fact that you grabbed a cup of regular isn't a big problem, I don't think you are gonna turn green or anything lol...acids in coffee can bother some as can the oils. Depending on the method of brewing...say filtered vs. perked you can get more oils which can bring on the runs on some people Coffee sometimes makes a great quick laxative for some!
Sometimes I drink regular, sometimes I drink decaf, sometimes I drink the reduced half caff stuff. I haven't had a problem. However, having said that, I never take it with my vitamins and wait at least 1/2 hour before or after drinking it to take them. I don't drink it to excess, usually just a cup or two in the morning now...occasionally in the afternoon or evening depending on if I'm out meeting friends for coffee! lol
