Pain Meds? Help

How long were you taking pain meds? I am still taking it once or twice a day and I am 2 weeks out today. I tried to stop, then I would hurt so much that I couldn't eat anything. I don't like this at all. I hate feeling like I have an upset stomach all the time. Help....

Wow, I stopped taking my pain meds by the monday after my surgery (it was on a wednesday). Even on Sunday & monday I only took a dose to get to sleep. Did you have lap or open? All people's tolerances to pain are different. I have a very high tolerance apparently. Have you told this to your surgeon. You should be in for your 2 week soon right?

Hi Jennifer, I took my pain meds for about 3 weeks, but I have a very low tolerance to pain. Please talk to your Dr. about it, and don't be afraid to take them if you need to. That is what they are there for. I hope you feel better soon. Big Hugs, Rosa

Jennifer, I wouldn't worry too much about taking pain meds once or twice a day at only 2 weeks out, you just had major surgery, things take time to heal, and everyone heals at their own pace. If you are concerned with what you're feeling, I'd highly recommend talking to your surgeon, they'll let you know if they feel it's normal, or something they should look into.
