i went to heaven today !!!
as i walked into the pearly gates of "walmart" it was time to get some clothes that fit.....being my whole life i always had to pay 35- 45.00 a pair of jeans and 21-30.00 for a shirt since those X's meant more out of pocket money.
I saw clearence in the distance...i ran to see if their might be something that was my size...before i would not even look...mo 4Xclearences for me anywhere at any time have ever seen big man stuff on clearence so you can imagine the thrill going up my spine as i had a good amount of stuff that was my size. now i cruised to dungeree's and saw pre washed and all kinds of jeans saying "here we are"....i was basking in the eternal light of pants for 9.73.....i almost needed an ambulance.....off to dress shirts i marched and i was knee deep in selection....grabbed an arm ful of colors and style's....now socks are right in front of me......6 pairs of winter sweat socks...40% off...wow i won't be strecthing these out so they fall down all the time.....i was in a good place....now what else can i get............a iron and ironing board....got to have it so my new me looks the best he can everyday....Monica grabbs pink floyd pajama's with matching shirt her feeling the same excitement....we were together in joy......monica still has to watch because she is half way to goal...and still going to lose more so she could not be as crazed as me who is within 2-4 inches of goal over the next year...i could bulk up with clothes that i will have for a bit......so monica grabbed just 2 dress shirts too.......great prices....i saw dress pants next...i floated to them and after an armful of color and styles tossed into the cart,,it was quite busting at the seams...hahahha,,,finally something else busting at the scenes other than me.......8 full bags later we stop at security at the front *****ads the story of our trip and waves us on...........what joy i found in the simple act of new clothes....that fit and look great.....i have found these are the moments a journey is made of....things that make your heart flutter are the rewards....don't always be looking down at the numbers on the scale....look around you and see the rewards that really mean something....when you see them then you truly are tatsing the wine of success
Tom, Usually it is us gals that get all crazy over clothes shopping. Your feminine side is showing. Ain't life grand!!!!! WOW!! Now you & Monica can give all the big boy and big girl stuff to Goodwill. Someone will have a hayday with them. The circle of life moves on and this journey is a blast. Enjoy all these precious moments. I know I do. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Tom Tyler!!! You have officially graduated to the other side!!! The milestone is shopping until you drop AND being absolutely giddy about it!!! When was the last time you did that as a pre-op (grocery shopping DOES NOT count)
Congratulations to both you and Monica!!! Truly, it is a whole new world out here isn't it???
