I wanted to get to the Lap Band meeting last night, especially since I was able to have my surgery a couple weeks ago. Had lots to do with my kids getting ready to go VT today for a ski trip. I was bummed. Does anyone know if the meeting next week (Healthy Beginnings, I think it is called) on Thursday night at Concordia has info for Lap Band patients or just by-pass patients. I went for my first post op today and am down 12 pounds. Of course they said two more weeks of liquids... I WANT SOME REAL FOOD (even soft food would be great).

There are several Lap patients that attend the Concordia meeting. We welcome all comers! I would love to meet you.

Keep up the good work

I usually try to make the Heathy Beginning meeting. I am oncall for work and if I dont have to work I will be there. It is important at this stage of your Post-op to let your insides ie:where band was put and where port is, heal. The suture sites inside take time and being on liquids your stomach doesnt have to do alot of work to digest. Keep your protein level high and this should help staying full. I added cheese to all of the soups I eat for added protein and taste. Adding skim milk to protein drinks and cream soups with 1/2 scoop unflavored Unjury helps (more protein) This is tough being on liquids I know very well. Its not a life time waiting and is well worth it. Hope this helps. Take care....
