Anyone have Dr. Peters do their endoscopy?
Sunny,
Don't worry -- it's a piece of cake. I love telling the story about getting my endoscopy ... my mom took me to the hospital and I remember drinking the horrible stuff that numbs the throat and I remember Dr. Irgau telling me to swallow the camera. He said, "Ok, swallow, swallow, swallow" and that's all I remember. I don't remember anything else until waking up in the room and my mom was just walking back in from getting breakfast in the cafeteria. She was worried I was waiting long by myself. When I opened my eyes, she said, "Have you been waiting long?" I said, "Is it over?" So, they obviously give you something to help you not remember it! or feel it! You'll be fine, just relax and it'll be over before you know it!
Good Luck!
Kristen
Dr Peters did my Endoscopy in November before my surgery. I remember walking into the room and getting on the stretcher and him coming into the room to talk to me. As far as the procedure I didnt feel a thing nor do I remember it. You will not get general anesthesia. You will be given medication via the IV but not be intubated (tube down your throat to help you breath). You will be fine. This is one of the easiest tests that there is. If you need anything else please ask. Take care....
