VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT DRINKING ALCOHOL

Hello all I found this on the main message board and decided to post it on here. I think all of us, some of us, most of us that drink have this question about drinking after the Gastric Bypass. Here, here!! I had a beer on a business trip a few months ago. My last for all time. Had a gas problem before I finished and it was all I could do to get back the 1/4 mile to my hotel. Just my two cents.

OK I was told that alcohol affects WLSers differently BEFORE I had my surgery! You guys got that info, right? I have had a glass of wine of 2 occassions since my surgery. Both times it affected me at about 1/2 glass. Also, both times it didn't last very long after I finished the glass. We are cheap, quick drunks now. Also both times I DID NOT Drive! My husband does not drink at all anymore so I always have my designated driver. I hope that any WLSer who wished to have a drink make sure thay have a driver who does not drink. Actually, that is my hope for EVERYONE who wishes to drink! But be careful that you do not replace your food addiction with an alcohol addiction. I know of at least 1 person that did that. Lesson: NEVER DRINK AND DRIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
