Had a sleep study done last night and I no longer need my c-pap machine. I have used one for 5 years and now I don't need to use it anymore. Another great reward from this surgery. Ellen **Warning: Don't make the decision to go off the machine on your own. You need to see your doctor and have follow-up study done.

Congratulations Ellen, I know you are excited about that. Boy I am sure it will feel different without sleeping with it if you have had it for 5 years. Way to go, just another WOW moment that you can add to your collection. Christie

Congrats Ellen!!! You must feel free as a bird! How's it feel to be able to turn over without pulling it onto the floor? Just think, you won't have to take it with you everywhere you go when traveling! Ah, I look forward to that day!!!

Congrats Ellen! I have my sleep study this week. I have been a naughty girl and have not been using my CPAP at all. Lisa

Ellen, good news dear. I had a 2nd study done in March of 2005, I still have apenic events. But my setting went from an 11 down to a 6. Good idea to get re-tested. Never assume that is has gone. ((HUGS)) Elissa

Hi Ellen, Glad you are off the CPAP machine . My doctor took me off mine in December but he did not require another sleep study because my sleep apnea was mild and he felt that the weight loss probably cured mine. He also asked me a rounds of questions about how I felt in the morning, if I had headaches etc. He said I could have a sleep study done if I wanted but based on my numbers when he put me on CPAP he said in 90% of the cases where people with mild sleep apnea lose weight the sleep apnea is cured. The doctor even said that he reccommends this surgery to his obese patients because he has seen such a turnaround in the lives of his patients who have done the surgery and he told me that he should make me a poster child for WLS which made me feel great! I just wanted to ask your guys on the board if you feel that maybe I should get another sleep study to be on the safe side? Please give your opinions. Thanks. I would listen to your doctor. We have to trust that they know more than we do in most cases. If you are worried talk to him again next time you see him Ellen
