re: Elissa update on Elissa
You guys are the best. 1st to my angel "Tammy" aka Bikini Bound to Deb, Tim, Nicki, Rick and Linda, Gigee, Mary, Roger, Rose, Faye, and everyone else that I've talked to and seen. Big hugs and kisses. TINA. I MISSED YOU AS MY ROOMIE. Where are you???? They gave me a mean cranky screaming one for 48 hours. Finally got a different one at 3am on day 3.
Praise be the Lord.
I am feeling minimal pain. Since I am not a hero, I am taking the pain meds and looking forward to them when they wear off. I am doing occupational therapy. PC's are on the program. Yipee!!!!!! I have Physical therapy 2 times a day. Piece of cake. Course it helps to time the pain meds to co-inside with the pt times. (I am not just another pretty face.)
Hope to out of here by the weekend. I am getting nugi sitting around. My butt hurts. Hope to see everyone soon!!!!
Welcome to all the newbies!!!
Elissa
Amazing woman!
How are you posting from the hospital? Did you bring your lap top? I want to hear all the advice you are going to give all of us while on those pain killers!
You truly are THE STAR OF THE MONTH! I wish you well and am praying for your quick recovery. I am sure that you are doing well and will continue to do so especially with all the protein you take in.
One more thing that will probably help. Be sure that EVERYONE that comes into your room washes their hands to prevent infection. Germs in the hospital are the worse, especially from the staff, because they go room to room.
Keep smiling and you are a blessing,
God bless,
Faye
Faye, Ask and you shall receive. I asked the head nurse and she offered the computer in the nurse's break room. She said patients are allowed to use it. I thought about bringing a laptop, but it cost $2.45 for the 1st minute, then $.45 every minute after that. NO WAY. I brought my cell phone to use Thank you. PA hospital has everyone put on gloves when they enter your room. The gloves live on the wall by my door. This place is the absolute best. Thanks to Deb, I emailed pre-surgery with the patient co-ordinator and nutritionist. Let me tell you, Christiana could learn from these guys big time.
Thanks again for letting me be "The Star of the month." I was pleasantly surprised and tickled. I'll take a picture of myself with it. Maybe you can start an album to keep for posterity sake. Can't wait to pass it on next month. What a great idea. You are the best.
Bless you,
Elissa
I'm so glad that you are doing so well Elissa but I knew you would anyway because God is watching over you and you are a very strong person. It has been so good to come to know you over the past two years because you have provided me with encouragement and strength at a time when I was having doubts about having had the surgery because I had some bumps in the road as I recovered and got used to my new stomach. I look forward to seeing you soon and just let me know when you would like your pot of Taco Soup. Hope Charlie, your kids, and your mom are all doing okay. Take care of yourself and look forward to seeing you very soon.

Carol, I am salivating thinking about the soup. I'm glad I was there to help you along the way. It means so much to me to have such a great support team behind me. Friends like you all have meant the world to me.
God has blessed me on my journey. I should be home hopefully by this weekend. Thanks in advance for the soup.

Elissa,
Leave it to you to get to use the nurse's computer. You're such a smart cookie!
We missed you at PMRI Saturday but everyone was sending their love and prayers to the one who usually is taking care of everyone else!!
Keep up the rehab and be a good patient so we'll get to see you soon.
Love, Kathleen
Kathleen, the computer is here, not sure if most people ask!!
Felt a little guilty when I went to PT today. My surgery was Wednesday, most of the others were the day before me. They want to know how come I can bend better than them. I told them about my WLS, exercise regime, and of course I'm 15 to 20 yrs younger than the majority here. And I'm a good 50-75 lbs lighter than most of them. I explained about the protein, exercise and determination that are my wings.
I would highly recommend this place for their knees. They are soooo on top of WLS. The food has been right on target. I brought food and crystal lite with Unjury and so far haven't eaten any of my stuff. I am given 3 meals a day with 3 snack meals. How cool is that. Snacks are fruit, yogurt, crackers, SF puddings, SF jello, peanut butter & cheese. Christiana could learn alot from the nutritionist here.
See you soon.
