Meet my friend Lew. I have know Lew for over 25 years. He has always been health conscious. He has tried to help me get healthy for years. Finally some of what he has been saying makes sense. Like, he never drank when he ate. I always shook my head over that until the past 2 yrs. Now that he is retired he has a couple of blog's. 1st on health. 2nd on cruising. Here is the link. See what you think. He's still trying to keep me healthy. Although I'll never be a Veggin. Elissa http://naturalhealthshowblog.blogspot.com/ Cook Tastier & More Digestible Oatmeal Herbalist Wendy Wilson, on her Herb Talk Live show, explained how to cook oatmeal correctly. If cooked too long, oatmeal becomes like glue and is very hard to digest (" a nightmare for the bowel"). Much tastier cooked this way. She suggested buying organic whole grain rolled oats. She didn't mention it, but I have read oats should be soaked in water overnight (6 to 8 hours), like rice and other grains. Soaking does help the oats to cook in only 5 minutes. Bring the water to a boil. Remove the pot from the hot burner. Put the oats in, stir, (add raisins), and cover the pot. Let the pot sit for 3 to 5 minutes, but no longer than 5 minutes. Drain off the water and serve. See my July 02, 2005, posting - Gout Relief! & How to Listen to Herb Talk Live. posted by Lew at 11:14 AM | 0 comments Thursday, December 29, 2005
