In another post yesterday Rob, Tammy and I posted what we ate that day. It really helps to see what others are eating. And I must say, Rob wins the prize. Don't know what the prize is but a 4 1/2 mile run and all that protein. Go Rob!!!! I often wonder if I am eating correctly and don't have the time (or maybe it is the persistance) to check with Fitday. So here goes Monday's foods: Breakfast:Oatmeal with raisens, nuts, skim milk Lunch: small greek salad (about 1/2 cup) vegatable soup crusty bread with butter (ate about a half palm flattened) Can you tell I ate at Panara for lunch? Snack: banana ( half early half later_ Dinner will be another 6 shrimp steamed (leftovers) and some veggies Protein shake tonite: strawberries, skim milk, unjury So far so good. Have a great day and God bless, Pastor Faye

Thanks Faye, this is a good thing to do to keep me in check. I was toying around with not posting it today since my food intake was less than stellar once again. But when I saw you had posted the topic, I knew I had to fess up! Panara sounds wonderful. I have never been there and I dare not go ... bread is one of my biggest food temptations. I struggle with it even at home ... I make all the bread for my family these days rather than buying commerical bread. This way I have control over the ingredients in it and can make the family a healthier alternative. They love having fresh bread around ... and I love knowing that they are not eating pure white flour, but rather a healthier recipe for seeded bread with whole grains, flax, oats, almond flour and misc other seeds and etc. Although I have to admit, it is hard for me to leave it alone at times ... but for the most part, I am pretty good about it. Every once in a while I will have a little hunk, buttered of course or once in a while when I make homemade hand tossed pizza for them, I will make a cracker thin crust as well and splurge on a piece. Ummmm ... enough salivating over bread ... *wipes drool from chin and continues* Did you not make the lental soup today after all? It sounded so good when you posted about it yesterday, I thought about grabbing the ingredients to make it today also. But ended up knowing that I would get home too late and opted for the much faster meal (salad). Feeding 1 - Hot Protein Drink - 30 gms protein Feeding 2 - Angeled egg, 1/4 cup whole grain oatmeal (aprox 13/14 gms protein?) Feeding 3 - Protein Shake - 20 gms Feeding 4 - 2 bites of a protein bar and it didn't sit well, so I ended up having 2 bites of hubbys grilled chicken sandwich & 3 french fries (fast food - I don't even like it anymore BUT it kept the hunger at bay and allowed me to finish the task at hand until I could get home to my delicious dinner salad - see next feeding) Feeding 5 - 1/2 cup Wilted Spinach Salad with warm bacon dressing (YUM), boiled egg, 1 oz cheese - approx 18 gms protein Got my all my vits in except for my last dose of calcium (later tonight). Ton's of ice cold water, a couple of glasses of lemon water and 1 small but absolutely delicious and lets not forget WARM, very warm coffee (royal farms - skim milk and splenda)! Have I ever mentioned that this cold weather is for the birds??? Guess that was not as bad as I had thought it was going to be. I should have a bit more protein today, but likely that won't happen since dinner was so late tonight. RECIPE for the Wilted Spinach Salad in the event someone wants it Fresh Baby Spinach (Washed well - EVEN if it is in the bag that says pre-washed) Fresh Parmesan Cheese Hot Bacon Dressing 3 (give or take) T 30% less fat, real bacon bits (I also have used leftover turkey bacon) 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar 2 pkts Splenda 1/4 t garlic powder (I have used fresh garlic also) 1 15 oz can diced tomatoes, drained Place all items in saucepan and bring to a boil. As soon as it comes to a boil take off heat and allow to slightly cool. Toss salad and dressing in bowl. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese if desired. So easy and so good! I like to eat mine with a boiled egg. Goodness, can I blab or what ... sorry to go on and on and on, but thanks for reading to the end!!! Smooches, Tammy

Thanks Faye, It was great to see you at the meeting tonight. It looks like you are really eating well. I love Paneras. They have a great 12-grain bread. I decided to post again, although it probably will look sort of boring (since I am rather regimented). By the way, carbs are not evil, they just must be eaten in moderation. Breakfast: Oatmud...(see previous post, my biggest meal of the day) Snack mid-morning: Choc Pineapple Peanut Butter Protein SoyMilkshake Lunch: 12-bean soup (3/4 cup) and small salad Snack mid-afternoon: Choc Raspberry Protein SoyMilkshake Dinner: Grilled chicken & cheese w/ mushrooms and onions on a whole wheat flaxseed tortilla (6-inch) Evening snack: 1/3 cup of carb yogurt with strawberry, granola topping Enough about my eating... Got in a 50 minute weight walk this morning but feel guilty cause I missed my spinning class tonight. It was definitely worth it to see all my lighter buds at PMRI. And the topic "Avoiding the Pitfalls" was actually good reinforcement. Oh well, maybe I'll double up at a spinning class tomorrow. Have a wonderful week, Rob
