Update on Kenn
Here we go again! From the office of Kenn Miller, many of you know who i am by now, those of you who dont, well ask a few on here, i am sure you can get a pretty good idea about me. I have experienced the good, bad and ugly of the surgery, not through any fault of someone else but that of my own medical conditions. Many of you know i have been experiencing some major problem with my ulcers and my new pouch and after serious and careful consideration, the surgeons and i have decided the only alternative was to have a revision surgery. What does that entail? Well basically, i will have to undergo surgery again, having a portion of my new pouch and intestine removed then reattached together. Sounds dangerious! yeah it can be, with any surgery, but with my freinds on here, and family and everyone else i know, i have alot of on my side pulling for me.You will never ever hear me complain about going through this surgery or what i have endured in the past, who knows where i would be if i didnt have it done. I will have to start over again, the surgeons have made it clear to me that 3 of the 5 will be in the operating room to assist since they all know my situation and track record with complications, and that the surgery could take 4 to 5 hours and the possibility of being opened up. Do i seem worried? , not at all, i know its something that needs to be done. They are looking to schedule it sometime towards the last week of this month. What will i do after surgery? Probably recover at home for the time i am supposed to unless someone is offering to bathe me on a regular basis . Would i welcome visitors while i am in the hospital? Sure if you can deal with someone either drugged up or in pain
Please dont feel sorry for me! I am a fighter, you all know that, this is just one of the obstacles we have to go through sometimes. One another note, i have been in contact with the Director of PMRI, they have agreed to co-sponsor the walk for obesity is we are approved and offer their location for some start up meetings as well as the 2nd Annual Picnic. So far i have gotten 15 volunteers. More are needed, this will not be an easy task. Remember Sept 30th is when the Walk for Obesity and Picnic both will scheduled so mark your calenders now.

Kenn, Let me know when you are to have your surgery and I will come visit you in the hospital. Please don't hesitate to ask me for something if you are in need of help while recuperating. Hang in there for you have over come alot of problems and challenges in the past and will come thru this with flying colors. I have faith and will say a prayer for you. Take care....Sharon
Kenn, Good luck on your up coming surgery. I had open surgery and had many complications due to my body too. You are right about being a fighter. You know what they say: When the going gets tough, the tough get going and you are tough. You will be in my prayers. Thanks for the date of the Walk. I am here from this end of the state to help in any way I can. Take care!!! See you lighter. Joanne
Kenn,
My prayers will be with you. Please let me know if there is anything you need or I can do for you.
Will you have to start the process all over again with eating pureed foods and buil your way up to solids again? Now you will have two 'born again" dates to remember. Let's hope this one comes with no complications and it is smooth sailing for you, my friend.
Lots of good luck,
Ellen
Kenn, I'll be keeping you in my prayers. Trust in God, and in the surgeons and you determination will get you through this hurdle. I'm having both knees replaced on the 18th. Hope to be back to work, drive and the gym in 4-6 weeks. I know I'll be bored to tears in the meantime, not to mention the physical therapy that I'll be doing, but it's got to be done. I was once told I was tenacious. It means hanging in there until positive results are achieved. I think you will do the same. I'll be home so call me if you are bored. ((HUGS)) Elissa
Dear Kenn,
Thank you for being willing to share what you are going through. Although the journey seems long and tedious you have a great attitude. I will keep you in my prayers and believe with you that all will go well. The surgeons are the best and having 3 of them there means they are all working to see you come through this with flying colors this time.
Please continue to post and know that there are lots of people praying for you. And keep up the great attitude. It does make a difference.
God bless,
Pastor Faye
Kenn,
I am sorry that I will not be participating in the 2nd Annual Picnic. The first one was a lot of fun. Team Gastric will be riding again in the MS 150 Bike to the Bay. We hope to have a substantial number of gastric riders this year so we may be in competition.
Good luck with your surgery. You have a great crew at CHRIAS so I am sure everything will be successful.
