Dr's Irgau, Wynn, Peters and their group at CHRIAS is located near Christiana Hospital. Their support is at PMRI near Greenville. Some folks from DE/MD/NJ go to Barix, PA hospital or HUP in nearby Pennsylvania. Do your research before you make a decision. Ask questions. Get answers. This is a great place to start. There are support groups that you can attend all over Delaware. I have listed them in the past week. Try to hook up with 1 or more of them. Good place to talk with pre & post op's. Hang tight for a roller coaster ride. Read our profiles. Interesting reading. Most of us have a lot in common. Good luck. Elissa

Shaughnessy, Welcome. I have Delaware BC/BS and had my surgery in D.C. I don't think it matters what state your BC is in. My bills went to Maryland B/C but was paid by Delaware. Please come join one of our local support groups in Camden or Harrington. Feel free to call me anytime. My phone # is: 947-0417. See you lighter. Joanne

Shaughnessy, The Harrington Support group is meeting Thursday, January 19th at Harrington Volunteer Fire Company. 20 Clark Street Harrington, Delaware . 7-9 pm. Our meeting is usually on the 3rd Wednesday of the month but this month we are meeting on Thursday due to a physical Theropist Who has had bypass surgery coming to talk to us about the inportance of exercise after surgery. This would be a good meeting for you. I know there will be another lady there who is just looking into surgery. She has Delaware BC/BS. Hope to see you there. See you lighter. Joanne

Thanks for the information...hopefully I can make it....my husband works m-w 4:oo p.m. - 6:30 a.m. and sometimes on thursday nights if there is overtime! Hopefully I will be able to attend that night. I have an eight year old son and a 14 month old daughter...so its kind of hard to do things sometimes! I know that you said that there is one in Camden...do you know of any others in Sussex county? Oh, do you have the info on the one in Camden...maybe I could find one that has meetings on the weekends...hopefully! I really want to start to go and experience what others are...thanks again...shaughnessy p.s. i love how you say see you lighter...its really great!

Shaughnessy, There is no support groups in Kent or Sussex County on the weekends but there is one in New Castle County . Check the listing Elissa Posted. She is very good at keeping everyone posted each month. The Camden Support Group meets the 2nd Monday of the month and the Rehobeth meeting is the 1st Tuesday of the month. I am going up to a meeting on Saturday the 21st. Tomorrow night is Kevin's meeting in Camden . You will see a post for the group on the Delaware board each month. I hope you find one you can attend. I truely beleave it is just as important to attend meetings before surgery as it is to attend afterwards. I am 9 months out of surgery and am still learning. I attend 3 meetings a month and this month will attend 4. Please call if you need to talk or have any questions or anything I can help you with. See you lighter. Joanne
