re: Lurkers Roll Call
Hi guys!! I had some issues posting (couldn't remember my login and password), so I've been lurking for a while now. Guilty as charged!! I guess I'll have to be more consistent in posting and that won't happen again, huh? I've been doing really well - 140 lbs, now into a size 12 or 10 depending on the clothes. I'm trying out for a police academy towards the beginning of March, so I have my work cut out for me as far as running and lifting weights for the next 2 mos, but I'm excited because I know I'm able to succeed!! That is such a great feeling! I appreciate my success and lack of complications so much more since a cousin of mine in AZ had the surgery the Monday before Thanksgiving and has been in ICU ever since, most of the time unconscious from medication. She had so many complications (She had open RN-Y) I just thank God for my successful surgery and pray every day that she pulls out of danger and gets to the part where she can enjoy a new freedom! I look forward to attending more meetings since it keeps me grounded, so I'll get to meet more of the great people who give such outstanding support on this site!!
See ya soon!
Bertie
okay, Elissa,
You got me. I do check the boards almost everyday but rarely add input. Forgive me for I have sinned! I'll try to do better in this new Year.
My plastic surgery went well and I'm getting stronger everyday. Two more weeks till I return to work so I hope the swelling goes down enogh to fit in my pants!!
Love, Kathleen
Elissa, Are you talking to me?? I guess I will step up and confess. I check in on you all two or three times a week. Life has been very hectic for me since the surgery. I finally started back to support group meetings several weeks ago. I had to travel for work for a couple of months after my surgery. It was unexpected and certainly made the first couple of months a challenge. But I have lost 105 lbs since surgery on April 11. Down from a size 24/26 to size 12. I have experienced no complications so far. I feel so fortunate.
My weight loss has definitely slowed down. I have to work much harder now to lose. But that's okay because I was ready for this from the beginning. 15 to 20 more lbs to go!!! I know that this part of the process is what real life is like.
I feel like I still have so much to learn so I don't know how much I can contribute here. But I promise to try harder.
Penny
