I have been reading and researching and have decided I want to have the D/S. My problem is, my insurance dosn't cover WLS but my secondary through my wife will. I can not find a doctor in Delaware that does D/S. That means out of network for the secondary insurance. My PCP is all for it and will help but where do I start?

Mike, Welcome. Get a consult with Chrias, Dr's Irgau & Wynn, Peters. They can give you the advantages and disadvantages of each of the types of WLS. I am sure they can be a great resource for you in your journey. Their # is 892-9900. Their experience and technique is 2nd to none. Their follow-up is the best. I had surgery Jan 26 of 2004. I have followed all the rules and am have been successful in my journey. I am down 174 lbs, I exercise at least 5 days a week, I'm off all meds and I feel fabulous. Hope this will help a little. Keep researching and asking questions. It'll help you make an informed decision that is good for you & your health. Elissa

Perhaps the DS forum might be able to give you input to Drs in the area. Unfornuately I don't know any that perform that surgery. PA drs were big on RNY or Lap band. I am sure they are out there....Good luck in your search. Debbie
