5 Month Check-Up

Hi Everyone: I had my five month check-up and to my surprise my protein was low again. I just can't seem to bring it above 14. When I went through Life Skills they told me 77 grams which I get consistently. Now they are telling me to increase to 90 grams. Doctor told me that the more you exercise the more protein you need. Has anyone else had any problems with protein? In addition to the protein my Iron is low. Any suggestions about Iron. I am taking two chewable Iron 29 mg. from Bariatric Advantage. I hope everyone is well. Any suggestions would be helpful. Kim S

Hey Kim, 1st of all, congrats on the 5 months. You look great. I know finding the right protein isn't always easy. Getting enough in is another challenge. I still drink smoothies and favorite is red grapefruit crystal lite (16 oz with 1 scoop of unflavored Unjury) times 2 a day. This equals 40 grams protein and 32 oz fluids. It keeps me full too. I drink 1 in the am and another in the afternoon. Had my labs done a week ago and protein level is 22. I exercise 2 hrs at least 5 days a week. I'd do more, cept I am really busy right now. Keep looking for the right combination that will be best for you. Once you find it, stick with it and enjoy life. ((HUGS)) Elissa
