Still Alive and Kicking
Okay, so maybe you thought i dropped off the face of the earth? Well, i havent just been busy with work, the Holidays, etc.. Catering! Did anyone catch last weeks, Spark Magazine, that the News Journal Puts out every wednesday, my picture of me and a co-worker, plus the Cafe (Marabella's) was highlighted on page 28, Great Right Up!
Anway, is anyone having any problems with ulcers in their new pouch? That is my only major problem i am experiencing, since most of you know my eating habits suck, well actually they are improving a little bit, my ulcer has grow into ULCER SSSSSS, yes plural. I am now on Carafate, 7x a day, Nexium, 2x day, Prevacid 2x day and Protonix, which they finally got approved for me only to Jan, 2006. This is why i cant understand why insurance companies dont believe in Preventative Medicine. My ulcers are doing so much damage to my new pouch that my possibility of having reconstructive surgery on my pouch is inevitable. There is some surgical procedure that i am going to have to undergo to correct this ongoing problem but i am dealing with it. I cant stand to think of how i could ever go through another surgery and yet still keep upbeat. I have to say this, my waist has gone from a 48 to a 36 since May of this year, and so many people are amazed of how different i look. Even i am starting to see the new me. Trust me when i say this, i am not down about my difficulties in anyway, someone else has it worse off then i do. Its important that we all have one another to lean on for support. Just think, this will be my first Christmas Meal where i can fit all my food on a salad plate, no seconds for me, lol.
Have a Very Safe and Happy Holidays!
Your friend... Kenn
Wow Kenn great review. I still had the Spark and you look ''HOT''. Sorry to hear about your ulcers but with medication and time it will heal. You are doing wonderful and keep up the good work. Attitude has alot to do with healing and the outcome. If you need anything please let me know. Have a great Holiday and stay positive......Sharon
Kenn,
Hang in there buddy. I developed an ulcer shortly after my surgery. I fully understand the pain associated with it. The carafate really did help me. It's hard to get in all the doses while trying to allow enough time in between taking the vitamins. Keep the faith.
Congrats on the article. I will have to pick up a copy.
Take care,
Deb
I am so glad that your spirits are still so upbeat. You have had a rough road. I am still waiting on a call or email from you.... I do believe I owe you mister.
I saw Dr. Peters myself this past week and he spoke about putting me on Protonix. Mentioned he had a patient that he got it approved for but it was a long process to get that approval. I'm guessing he was talking about you! I hope it helps you and I hope I can get it myself. I started out with 2 ulcers. Down to one but that sucker just won't give up the ghost!
Keep looking forward... you are doing great and all will turn out fine for you. I have faith in that!
*hugs*

Oh, and in case you lost my number.... since I haven't heard from you it's.... 438-6395
Kenn,
Sorry to hear about the ulcers. I can't believe they have you on so much meds...I don't think I could walk in your shoes with those meds. I hate to take pills now. Other than that you are doing well and that is a good thing! Keep that positive attitude and the rest will fall into place for you for sure. What a talent you have being in the food biz and having this surgery. I definitely have to commend you for that because I would not have survived this long if I had both going on in my life.
Happy Holidays and remember the 3 bite rule.
Debbie
So glad to see you are doing better Kenn. I was talking to some friends (my boss) the other night. Sam & Carol Terranova. Small world eh? You haven't had it easy, but sounds like you'd do it all over again. Hope the Dr's can fix all the ulcers and get you on the right path. Keep up the great attitude. Enjoy the Holiday. I know each one gets better for me than the last one. ((HUGS)) Elissa
