I'm home

I got home yesterday afternoon after Thursday surgery at Barix Langhorne. Just as a note, everyone and everything there was just great (except maybe the pharmacy which never used or looked up my rx, especially when my bp got high). Very happy that I went there and especially glad I asked for laparascopic. I have another (seventh) lap hole since my big fatty liver needed more retraction, but all was successful and didn't have to convert to open. Dr. Brader assures us that the liver will reduce; sure hope so. I'm sore and a little tired, but feeling great; its almost hard to realize I've had a big surgery. I'm drinking without difficulty, walking around the house and up and down to the basement and breathing deep. After so long waiting, I'm very relieved to be "on the other side" and looking forward to all the positive results. Thank you all for your constant information and support. Carol

Congrads to you. Glad to hear that you have joined the ''losing'' side. Continue walking along with sipping. That will continue the healing process...

Hi Carol, Congratulations on a successful surgery. I am also going to Barix in Langhorne, all I am waiting on right now is my date. I have Dr Kaczmarski. I hear Dr Brader is very nice too. Can't wait to hear more of your success stories. Robyn

Welcome! Remember walk breathe & sip. Don't stress about getting in all of the protein & vitamins the first week or 2 just do what your doctor tells you and explore your pouch moods. Just try your best. Listen to your body. It will tell you everything you need. Expect to have gas pain, possibly up in your shoulders & neck. Bending really halped me get rid of the gas. Every time I loaded & emptied the dishwasher gave me great relief.
