Protein Drinks ETC ETC
I will soon start the process of seeing the Dr. Et****eop reading about geetting enough protein and things like that. I ahve a terrible time with thick drinks and gag rather easily. What have some of you used to help you through this. Do you have the website links that I may need to order some now so that I can begin trying all of them. I want to have a good supply onhand. Thank yo in advance. (side note) I had a terrible time getting signed in tonight. so I set up a new name on the sight. I used to be logged as Gary Wayne.
Hi Gary, as far as protein, yes it is very important, altough I do not get alot of it in. Drinks are hard to say, there is the Isopure drinks that you can buy at the doctors office, or even the vitamin store sell them. This is my best thing. I like the pineapple, orange and banana one, and also the peach mango. Elissa drinks the crystal light grapefruit juice and mixes protein powder in it. As far as amounts for that I am not sure. ( I am sure that you could ask her if you were interested) As far as taste buds go, you may like something now and not like it after surgery. In class I liked the apple melon one, and now after surgery I don't so it all depends. Hope this helps a little.

Hi Gary,
I'm not one who is able to handle the fruit drinks because my body just doesn't like the fruit/protein mixture. But one that didn't make me gag was the profect... that was just a bit sweet for me and I couldn't handle it for that reason. The best idea is to get samples (they often have samples at the store in CHRIAS) to try and get an idea of what is out there. And a lot of people can't handle things after surgery that they can before, who knows, a thick chocolate shake (my favorite) might do the trick post op!
Best wishes to you!

www.loseforless.com/zercaris2.html
store.bariatriceating.com/sazecais.html
www.baribites.com/

That should give you enough of a variety.....I have been to all of these sites at one time or another.
Some of them have vitamin needs there as well if you are a big online shopper.
Gary,
www.protica.com.... My wife and I both drink it. We do the melon one...
It is only 2.7 oz....Good Luck!
Gary, try www.bariactriceating.com also. I LOVE the Nectar line of drinks. My favorites are the iced tea and the cherry flavors. I find that they are a little too sweet if you mix according to instructions but are perfect with extra water. I know Debbie is a fan also.

I am only two weeks post op, but I was having a very hard time finding any protein supplement that didnt' make me gag.
I have finally found something I can tolerate and actually like! This will give you 32 grams of protein in one drink and actually tastes good!
1 cup 1% milk-7 grams protein
1 scoop choc or vanilla 'UNJURY' protein powder-25 grams protein
5 frozen strawberries
3 pack Splenda
Blend in blender, sip and enjoy!
I have also used frozen peaches with vanilla unjury and that also tastes good.
Hope this helps
