Quick question for the women...

Since I moved back to DE last summer, I've found a wonderful PCP. However, I haven't found a new gynecologist yet and am overdue for a check-up. I'm very sensitive about doctors and their mannerisms, having been humiliated by doctors about my weight more times than I care to remember. Can anyone recommend a good OB/GYN who is weight-sensitive? I know that I'm obese, so I don't need a doctor who will just tell me how fat I am and how I have to lose weight. I've heard horror stories about large women being told they couldn't have pap smears done due to their size--Which is insane anyway, but I still have fears of going to a new doctor and having him/her be some fat-phobic person who won't treat me like a "normal" woman. Any doctor in the greater Newark or Wilmington area would be great. Your suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hey! Look up Walter Kobasa, not sure his new phone number off the top of my head but he's still in the greater Newark area. He delivered 2 of my babies for me and I was pushing 370 at the time of delivery for my son! HUGS Rachel

Kobasa is MY OB/GYN too and I love him. He was supposed to deliver my daughter but the day before I went into labor he went to a convention in FL. I TOLD him the minute he left I'd have the baby! LOL He's on Kirkwood Highway just before Meadowood, right there where you turn to go to St. Marks. He's never even hinted about my obesity but was very interested and helpful during my pre-op stage when I was trying to get my cycle back in sync. He took over for Dr. Imran.

Estelle Whitney is awesome, she is a very kind and conderate doctor. She is located in the Limestone Medical Center on Limestone Road. And unless she lost weight recently she isn't a thin lady.

I love Dr. Helen McCullough! I never thought I'd like a woman gyn, but she is the best! I've referred several people to her practice, All About Women. They are all women Gyn's. I changed from a man about 12 years ago and would never go back. Women understand womens problems.
