Re: protein problem
Whew! This protein situation is gonna drive me nuts!! I am still not dealing with protein yet...I am still trying so hard to keep things in my stomach PERIOD that the protein issue is still being pushed to the back. I gave up with the whey protein - there was just no tolerating it!!! I don't care HOW many ways my husband tried to sneak it into my diet, I caught him every single time - I just could not handle the taste of it!! And I am so sensitive to tastes...there was just no way around it!!! I am trying soy protein now and actually, I find I am able to handle that a little better. It depends on how it is presented but I have been able to get some down. Still having issues with liquids, I do better with crushed ice, and STILL having issues with the pouch and the "pain" that I get when eating something besides mashed potatoes! I am getting to the point that mashed potatoes and I are going to have to go our seperate way for awhile if I have to eat too much more of them !!! What a recovery!! But after hearing what I went through on the operating table, I actually am not surprised. However, I am ready for all of this to settle down though so I can get to the business of eating properly instead of just eating so I don't hurl!! And yes, I did try the Profect - thanks to Lisa and Kevin!! I need to try a few other flavors!! I have a feeling that using that is going to be my best bet for protein but, sorry guys, the cool melon was not as good as I was hoping it would be!!! I did drink it and tolerate it though. Like I said, I am gonna try the others and see if something else will work better for me. With my luck it will be the one the company wants to get rid of!!! Well, let me close for now. We have errands early tomorrow!! The Camden-Wyoming support group rocks!!! It was good seeing the people there that showed and Kevin and Lisa did a great job!!!! And Lisa, Bill did NOT make my cake for me for my Birthday Sunday!!! I have a feeling it was for the best - I would have eaten more than I could have handled!! WEll, Take care all and God Bless!!
Try putting your protein drinks in a bottle with a narrow opening. That way you don't smell it while you're drinking. Smell has alot to do with taste. Also what kinds of protein powders have you tried. I love the nectar juice flavors. You can purchase samples on www.bariactriceating.com
