Housing update...
Hi Everyone...
I went out this weekend apartment hunting and found a good one that I can afford... now I just have to get over the credit issue... While married the X defaulted on my college loan and didn't tell me about it. I found out after we were divorced that he hadn't made the payments and have been trying to find a way to get out of default ever since. Now that I have a job it's possible, but it's making moving difficult. I'm hoping that they will take into consideration that my situation is an unusual case for them and give me a chance, I can keep them where they are for the rest of this school year and then start them somewhere else for next year when Alyssa and Kayla are both in school. Wish me luck people, the X won't even sign papers saying I pay rent because as he claims, I don't... ugh... For those who don't know, since he owns the house and had to pay me alimony in the amt of the mortgage, he just never gave me the alimony and put it right to the mortgage, but since he never gave me the cash, I didn't hand it to him, so he says I don't pay rent. That's fair isn't it? Don't tell someone the truth because money didn't technically change hands... nevermind that you're kicking the person out in the first place! What's worse is that I can't find the paperwork that says that he will pay the marital debt which would erase that debt from my account also. I am going nuts here, I had been told that bill had been paid 3 years ago... long before the divorce.
For those who have decent men in your lives, be glad, I'm just hoping that I do get this place, then I can prove to him (and everyone else) that I don't need him once and for all. Just wi**** didn't have to come down to this!

Hi Rachel,
I am so sorry you are having so much trouble. I thank my lucky stars I have a good man....but it hasn't always been wonderful, we had a ruff start 19 years ago, he went out and bought a brand new harley davidson and kept it at his ex-wifes house, everyone but me knew he bought it. I just had a baby and we were living in a rat hole of a trailer. When I found out about it I almost left him over it, but decided to give him another chance. He sold the Harley and he did a couple more dumb things but I hung in there. He is a hard working man and loves his family and I am glad I hung in there. So I hope things get better for you and your children.
Take care,
Dana
