Great topic Deb, You certainly have hit the nail on the head. I have soooooo much more energy now. I have always been positive. I feel great knowing I look more normal now. My self esteem cup runneth over. I don't think I was ever this focused on my health tho. There isn't a thing that I touch that hasn't been affected by this. This time I know I am will be a success. Course it is a battle every day. Making sure I get in the vitamins, water, protein. Getting my butt to the gym and exercising. My husband, Mom, kids, grandkids,& friends have seen the changes I've made. I know they were all worried at first, but now they feel responsible for encouraging me. I have been truely blessed by this whole entire experience. I keep getting and giving support where needed and do appreciate every ounce of it. I enjoy sharing what I like to call, "The good, the bad and the ugly." Thanks for being there. I can only think of 1 bad thing. The nasty odor from all the protein. Elissa

Yes but the odor is someone else's attitude towards us....Like help some one hand me a mask I can't take the smell anymore! I still want to know is this something we have to live with the rest of our lives or will our body adapt and become normal? Glad to see so many people recognizing this very important change in us. Hugs and Fleece Blankets Debbie (Should I throw in an extra blanket for tonight?)

Debbie, We are not the only ones with the odor problem. There is a guy at my work that is a body builder. He drinks lots of protein and is very gasly but has a weak stomach. He use to walk around farting and thinking it was very funny. Oh , he still does this!!!! He is a jokstier himself and would do things like fart then tell you you have a phone call and when you go in the office he would shut the door and laugh why you gag. I remember when I returned to work after surgery meeting him at the time clock and my comment to him was: Seriously now !! I have a weak stomach , so please do not play your farting games around me or we will be vomiting together. He can't stand to see someone vomit. Oh he was careful around me at first but he is back to his old tricks again. Beleive me we do not smell bad next to this guy. I even told him about internal deodorant.LOL!! See you lighter. Joanne

Now that is too funny! But it sounds like something a muscle head would do....I had one in our neighborhood growing up....I just never got that close to him. But your come back to him was sweet!

Increased Confidence! Don't walk all over me! Don't pee in my boots and tell me it is raining, I will call you on it! Yes, I have changed and I am not that far on my journey. God, My wife, My family, Myself, My true friends are all important to me. Not only did I have this operation only for me but for each of them so that I can give back to them. I sometimes have to have a talk with self.....because my confidence just might be a little, hmmm too much for some people to grasp. The people I have met on this board are awesome....I am not a person that is full of himself....I have reclaimed myself 2 times in my life....once was the morning I woke up and looked at my ex-wife (no not my Lisa - she's a sweetheart) and told her that on that particular day I was reclaiming myself. The 2nd time was when Dr. Wynn performed the WLS.... so yes I have reclaimed myself and I am very proud to have done it! Is this really Kevin posting such a long post!! Thanks for listening! Kevin
