I think I did.....
I think I already asked this question a month or so ago. But does anyone have any referrals for a psych doctor? I need to go ahead and schedule my appt. soon but just wanted some ideas. Also, when are the life skills classes...like are they in the late afternoons? I just wanted to know in case I had to go ahead and start changing my work schedule. Thanks!
The life skills program at PMRI is for people who are getting their surgery at Christiana Hospital. It's $1200. That includes the classes (6 weeks, 1 evening per week), psych apt., nurse practitioner apt, endincronologist apt and 5 years worth of support group meetings. I think Dr. Irgau has to give you a referral for that. You can get that at your consultation. If you want your surgery at St. Francis, you have to do their program. I'm not sure of the details. I'm sure one of the St. Francis patients can answer them for you.
Yes Ma'am! They will make arrangements if you can't pay it all at once but you won't get your final clearance until it's all paid up. St. Francis is much less but I really don't know the details. I went with Christiana simply because I much more comfortable with that hospital. I paid 1/2 cash from my tax refund and 1/2 on my credit card.
April,
Some insurance companies pay for part of the PMRI visits. I only had to pay out a little over $500 of the $1200. My insurance covered the endocronologist, nutritionist and nurse practitioner. The psychologist was covered only in part because she was out of network. The fee also includes the Lifeskills class that you are required to go through if you have your surgery at Christiana, and 3 years of support group meetings that you can go to before and after surgery.
