Last week I saw a post where the family was actually loosing weight too! Well that is not the case for my husband, he has put on 40 pounds since my surgery. I was wondering has anyone had this experience! Is there something I could do differently? Thanks, Dana

Dana, My husband lost 30 lbs after I had surgery. He didn't need to. I had the Dr talk to him and tell him the best way he could support me was to eat. I had a few complications early on and I think part of his problem was worry. He didn't want me to have this surgery and Dr. Granet said he would never forget his face when they took me into surgery. He said his face was saying " Please don't do this to her" My husband is very supportive now and he gets weighted with me every Monday morning. He has put on a couple of pounds but not enough. I do cook differently now but make sure he has what he likes in the house.Except for the decafe coffee I am fooling him with right now. We all know your husband has to want to lose the weight himself and there is nothing differently you can do. Remember you can not change other people, only yourself! Take care of yourself. You deserve it. See you lighter. Joanne

Hi Joanne, My husband was very worried about my surgery, and in the beginning he did loose about 15 pounds, but then he just started gaining weight, He did retire back in February from the gas company, all spring and summer he worked at Wal Mart 3 days a week and mowed grass, ( a side business). He just recently took on a seasonal job delivering fuel oil. So maybe working more he will get some of the weight off. Thanks, Dana

Dana, His retirement probly had something to do with his weight gain too. Now that he is working see how he does. I bet he will do better. Bordom will make some people eat. I think it is hard on men not to work. My husband is on disability and I know he had a ruff time when he first stopped working. He keeps busy now doing side jobs for friends. Someone always wants him to do something for them. Take care. See you lighter. Joanne
