Confessions of a Scale *****!

Yes, My name is Debbie and I am a SW! It all started when I had this surgery....Why you ask....Its because I wanted to validate that the surgery was working for me....Why wasn't visuals good enough...We don't see things in the mirror they way we should. Our self talk can be off...way off and we think we are still fat when we should be seeing a thinner healthier person. I started at 425 lbs so validating with a scale at home was impossible....the bigger I got the bigger the clothes had to get for me....So why could I not use clothes as a validator? Simple I like to wear them baggy now! Because I have never had baggy clothing before. So you can't tell there is a lose but if they start to get snug I will know there is a gain! I think its a little to late then to fix the problem....so the scale wins! It talks back to me immediately and lets me know if there is something not right. It keeps me honest! I am trying to back it off a bit since it drives me nuts nothing is coming off...but wait something did come off from last month to this month.....Good thing I record weights at least once a month in my journal. I think its a good thing to be SW. I am for the first time accounting for my food actions and tracking versus fooling myself that I don't need to be accountable. So there it is....finally out in black and white for me! Everyone enjoy the day... I am off to the gym Debbie SW 425/215/150

Hey Debbie, I guess I am a sw too! On my job, that is all I do all day is weigh up carts and send them out for delivery. So, lets just say I am a little too tempted to weigh myself everyday, and I record it too! I think being a sw is a good thing too! Take care, from one sw to another!!!!! Dana

Hi Debbie! Hi Dana! Welcome to Scale *****s Anonoymous! My name is Dee and I too am a SW! I weigh every day 1st thing in the morning and sometimes in the evenings too (especially if I've had a really good day). Although I don't get upset if it doesn't go down, I'm a chunk looser. I loose in chunks every few days to a week. As long as it's not going up (at least not more than 2 pounds, that's the average daily fluxuation for me it seems) I'm fine. I went to Curves at 8:30 this morning. (Kim S where were you!!!) Dee

Count me in too. I weigh every morning and sometimes at night. It keeps me honest and gives me the feedback I need. Sometimes mirrors, clothes and friends aren't enough. While, It feels good to know I am not alone. Ellen

Debbie, I have this problem too. I try to only get on the scale every Monday morning but I find myself on there about 3 times a week. Someone told me to throw my scales away for it was not my friend. Sorry no can do at this point. The scales is still friendly to me and keeps me accountable. It makes me want to do better. See all lighter. Joanne

Hi Debbie, Me Too!!!! I step on once in the morning before I shower... Once when I am out and my hair is dry and then before bed. I record the after shower and bed time weight in my journal plus activity, foods I ate and BM. Gotta make sure I am going... It was great seeing you at the meeting! You look great!! Hi Dee (sat next to you) Jen

Good that you are going! That stuffed feeling is not good! LOL. I heard from Joanie, I just have not been home long enough to chat to her. Maybe one night this week. Glad you came and it was great chatting. I am only weighing once a day...Not losing enough now to see a difference so once is enough. LOL. I posted a new pic on my site....the halloween outfit! See you soon! Debbie
