CT SCAN RESULTS
Well I went to my pcp today about the CT SCAN results. They came back just like the 1st set did. My spleen is enlarged, and it shows that there is a history of collaterol veins, and DVT's (blood clots) She said right now just to do a follow up with my hematologist. But it is nothing major. She also feels that it is good that I am having the cardiac catherization done. The is the better way to find things out. My only issue with that is, I have had clots in my right and left leg near the groin. So I will speak to the cardiologist about that. Anyway, I see Dr. Blatt who is my hematologist, and my pcp likes him, but I told her I do not feel that he is doing all he should be doing and because I have been with him for 11 yrs I feel bad for wanting to leave. I told her I have an appt. on the 31st, to see Dr. Neilan, the good thing with that is she likes that dr also. So as long as she like them I feel a little better knowing that.
So anyway that was that and next Tues., the 18th I have to be at the hospital at 5:30am and the procedure is scheduled for 7 am. all done at Christiana. OH I gained a few pounds not sure if it is because of stress or what. Talk to you all soon.

Thanks for posting. Gosh, I hope you get straightened out soon. I also have clotting disorders and hx of dvt. I take coumadin now. My PCP manages that and so far so good, but its been 6mos and I want to stop taking coumadin. She says not yet and that Dr Blatt (my hematologist, too) said I should take coumadin lifelong. I think he is a brilliant man, but he doesn't manage my coumadin so I don't think he is "up" on my care. I do feel fortunate that he is involved in my care, like when I had the second surgery and then the clot afterwards and he was consulted and saw me in the hospital and I was thankful that he was there. Dr Irgau wanted to put a filter in me immediately as he was so, so concerned and protective of me and I am grateful, but I didn't want a permenant filter placed. Dr Blatt agreed. But pre-op, Dr Blatt didn't want me to use the temporary filter, so I just humored him and made up my mind that I wouldn't do it without one and got one anyway.
Anyway, what meds are you on? I have some Lovenox injections 100mL. I don't seem to need them anymore. So I will be donating them to CHRIAS, so that they can dispense them properly to any patient in need as they are very expensive and insurance doesn't always want to cover them. I had to ask them for samples in the beginning of my therapy and they were very helpful in getting them to me.
Good luck, Christie.
Dianne
Hi Dianne, I have Dr. Blatt as my hematologist and he does manage my coumadin. He told me that I will be on if my lifetime also. But I have had clots before so my second set was nothing new to me. I also feel he does not do what he should so to speak. So I am actually looking in to see Dr. Neilan. I have a consult with her on the 31st. I am scheduled for a cardiac catherization on Tues the 18th, so I will be getting put back on lovenox today.
Talk to you soon. Christie
