Okay I am sick of the rain! Thank you everyone for helping me in the dark mood period of life! I hope when the sun comes back it brings back the lighter times of life as well! Gram got out of bed yesterday. I don't know how long but the nurse thought that was good. Food eating...well she has always eaten very little...now I think she must have a stomach of a golf ball because she eats less than I did coming out of this surgery. I of course was pushing the protein on the spoon for her vs the carbs! I hope to get out of work a little early today and travel to see her...it all depends on the day! I wish she was closer....Thanks Elissa for the offer of your time for a day of beauty....I know a southern belle like herself would love that....Chat with you Thursday....HUGS to all. Christie, I will keep you in prayers and the 18th will be a piece of cake for you! Enjoy the wet day! I say we all get our duck suits on! Debbie

Hi Debbie: I am so glad to hear your Gram is feeling better. Nothing new here but I will admit to my first "dumping" experience. I was in a rush to get off to work so instead of making my protein shake (Isopure) I grabbed an Atkins shake. I drank half of it and had to stop the car! I won't do that again. Hope all is well with everyone. Have a great day! Kim S

Good Morning Delaware I hope everyone is doing wonderful today. I am up quite early. I was trying to catch some quiet time before the baby woke up and darnit if she isn't awake...little stinker. I am going to Rehobeth today with my mom. We are having a baby shower for my step sister on Thursday so we have to go and get her gift and party supplies. I love doing that kind of stuff, it is fun. Last night was wonderful. I went with Jeff to Victoria's Restaurant and we had a great time. It is a very nice and romantic place. We spent $70 (including tip) but it was worth it. We didn't get to go parking (too full..lol) but we did walk down the boardwalk hand in hand. All together it was a nice anniversary. Or as Chloe kept saying to us...Happy Indanursery Guys... Kids are so cute. Robyn

Good Morning Everyone, I am here at work already...(yuck). I am hoping today will be better then yesterday here. Yesterday one of my coworkers "thought" he was doing me a favor and all he did was tick me off and cause me to cuss him out. I ate my lunch at 1230 like I usually do on Mondays, I am pre op, so I had some chicken and spinach. That was it, nothing else. Well around 4pm I got hungry and when I went back to look for something to eat he jumped all over me about me eating. I went and cussed him out at that point. He then proceeded to tell me that if he was going to have to listen to me talk about my surgery for the next few months then he felt he had to right to be my food police. I hate when people make comments about what I am eating, if you ever want to tick me off that is the way. I then proceeded to tell him now that I knew he didn't want to hear about my WLS that in the future I would refrain from talking about it with him; however if he was in the area when I was talking to someone about it then I suggest that he leave the area. People are so rude sometimes and insensative. I am still angry today and will probably just ignore him all day today. It was almost like he was reminding me that I was fat and thought he would let me know. Oh well sorry about rambling, I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for allowing me to vent. Have a great day everyone!!! Deanna

Boy! He's going to have a field day when you have to eat 6 times a day!!!! I feel like I'm constantly eating something. You might want to explain that aspect of the surgery to your co-worker. At work I eat breakfast then a protein shake, then I eat lunch then a protein drink (20 oz) then I have a late afternoon snack and finish my protein drink.

Hi all!!! I am here I am doing ok alittle nervous only because of the findings of the test. But I am not stressing myself out, it just seems like one thing after another. Today I go into my pcp at 3:15 for the results of my CT SCAN of the ab. to see what they found out about my spleen. Sometimes I look at it like I had this surgery to become healthy and yet everything else seems to go wrong. I will update you all when I get back from the dr. Debbie I am glad to hear that your Granny was up, and thanks for the luck you and everyone is sending me. Christie

Good, Dreary Afternoon Everyone, Not much going on here today. Had to run my daughter over to the orthodontist this morning and back to school in a mad flurry so as not to miss class pictures. That was fun. Debbie, I'm glad things are looking a little brighter for you today and to hear that Gram was up and about. My guess is that you are spending a lot of time visiting with her these days, so don't forget to take care of yourself in the process! Christie, Chin Up, Girl!! I'd be willing to bet that your health wasn't in tip top shape before surgery, so for now go with baby steps. You'll get there, but all in good time! I'll keep you both close in thought and prayer. Hey, Robyn, you know, I think we're neighbors. I'm glad your anniversary went well! Being in a single income family I know how it is when finances are low. I also know that some of my favorite anniversary celebrations were done on a budget! Hehehe! I liked the parking idea too, but I guess my old man has turned into a fuddy duddy! Have fun, today! As for that snooty ole co-worker, who has either never had to worry about his weight or is just plain jealous... I think I would politely let him know not to knock on your door the next time he feels the need for moral support! (not that I wouldn't provide it if the need arose, but I might feel better for a while!) It's a good thing that everyone here is so caring and thoughtful! Sooo, how many appointments did Stacey make today? Maybe you want to do some more research to further put your mind and heart at ease? I have been thinking about this on and off for 3 years and all I can say is when you are truly ready, nothing is going to stop you! You'll be like me, wanting to light fires under everyone to speed up the process! I see my pcm (primary care manager - - we're a military family and they just have to be different) on 10/24 at which time he says he'll do the paperwork for the consult. I can hardly wait!! I haven't started to make any pre appointments as of yet because if I (NO, not IF, WHEN) have the surgery it will have to take place at John Hopkins in Baltimore, and I am not sure who the approved providers will be until I have the consult. Kinda makes me feel like the black sheep of the message board family. It also causes a bit of frustration, because I can't use the information that all of you have on local providers. I don't suppose anyone knows someone else who has had wls through J.H.? Okay, I've written my novel for the day! Time to do the chores! Take care, Everyone! Tammy

Tammy, I hear John Hopkins is a good hospital. I had my surgery at Washington Hospital Center in D.C. They do have more support here but from my understanding anyone can attend any local support group no matter where you had surgery. They do have a support group at Washington Hospital Center but it falls on my weekend to work. Start going to local support groups now. See you lighter. Joanne

You are right....I had my surgery in Philadelphia and go between the two support groups. I learn something every where I go! And the group in Delaware is the best! They are so supportive and understanding. Philly's group is too large to get to know anyone. Our meetings are in a big auditorium. The speakers are usually good so I try and get in a few meetings a year there. Its a haul but I like to hear what is going on there so I attend them as well as PMRI, and Healthy Beginnings! Debbie
